Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

playa De Las Americas is amazing.
It was a very good looking, tidy place.
Playa De Las Americas nightlife, was absolutely brilliant. specially the Starco's patch, very good bars such as Branigans - very funny, good looking d'j. Played all sorts of music, good entertainer.
Yates - A good bar, but quite exspensive. For a round of 4, it cost 26e. They try to con you buy saying buy 1 get 1 free, but you dont really, you really pay for them.
Edwards - the same as Yates.
Mett Bar - was good when we went in, good d'j, played all sorts of misic.
DownUnder - quite boring, to be honest, it isn't that good at all.
Rags - it was okay, at the right time of the night, but we just didn't know when.
Tramps - absolutely brilliant. An amzing bar to go to at the end of the night. As all the bars closed around 3am, Tramps was open till 6am. As everyone piled in there when all the bars closed. Brilliant!
There is Veronicas strip to go to, but i woudn't recommend it at all, as it is known to be a bit rough around that area!
The troya black beach, only 300m away, really nice. It is volcanic sands, known to be black but really it is a light grey. But very nice. We was there in january and it was really busy, so i would tell you to get up early to get a sun-lounge.
We went on some other beaches, but don't know the names. really nice golden sands. Really tiny bits of stone. But not a big problem.
I would deffenately come back here. We all loved it. It was brilliant. Just to tell you we have booked to come back in July with some other friends. Fantastic.

The beach (whatever one you choose) is downhill a good 15 min walk but hey its good for the thighs! There was a pub accross the road called the Irish Drover which was always full every night but to be honest it was Pramarama (you know the type full of prams and kids running wild).
In the cold light of day it was dire.
Had a lovely meal in Verdis on the main road, again not cheap but nice. It is hard to find any authentic Spanish restuarants - we Scots don't all like to eat rubbish. Downtown to Playa De Las Americas is double the price for drinks and food and very tacky.
I have noticed that over the past 2 years Spain is not as cheap as it used to be. Prices on par with the UK. Its worth noting that Costa Adeje & Torviscas are completely different from downtown PDLA as in much cleaner and nicer environment.

Like any resort there are good and bad areas. We have however always found plenty to do and the shopping area near the Hotel Vulcano is really nice and also has lots of lovely restaurants.
There is also a strip of bars there with singers for every taste in music. The Veronicas area is at present being revamped so this should improve that section once it is completed.
Areas in Los Cristianos are also being modernised and is another resort where there are nice places to eat.

We didn`t get much chance to experience Playa de Las Americas as the children wanted to stay at the kids club through the day and we stayed at the hotel of an evening time.
We spent a bit of time in the St Eugenes bar and the Irish /temple bar where we managed to watch all the Liverpool games. Brill!!!

If the local bars karoke etc is not for you and you prefer a quite after dinner drink go out the back gate and go across to Cafe del Sol. Friendly welcome from English host Terry who will take the time to talk and serves a great coffee and brandy.

Playa Fanabe or Costa Adeje is well kept, and quite safe to walk around. We weren't out very late and I imagine at this time of year its quite quiet. There are lots of restaurants etc, less tacky than Los Americas or Los Christianos.

The resort was good overall, but would never go back again!

The resort was busy but pleasant. Nice beaches and warm water with plenty of arranged sightseeing tours available and a good local bus service for self planned visits.
Don't go expecting nice Spanish food, we did not find it. English, German, Italian or Chinese is readily available but most of what we ate was not very good. Enjoyed the local beers, though!
Main complaints would be against excess of Time Share Louts during the day and Chinese restraunt hustlers in the evening. Generally speaking, street hassle was prety gentle compared with some of the other places that we have been to.
We enjoyed the holiday and would go again.
