Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

Resort was spotless except for building work opposite( we were notified of this before departure.)
Entertainment was non existant outside of hotel lounges, but only 10 minute walk from peurto colon, or 5min taxi ride to las americas.
Beach was spot on, but it was 25euro for 2 sun beds. Having said that, they were the most comfy I have ever seen.
Allsaid and done I would go back for relaxing holiday.

No complaints about the resort, small but adequate for your needs. Some good eating places.

The resort was very clean no litter anywere, the resorts entertaintment was very good a lot of bars and clubs.
The beach standards was good but I didnt like it because of the black sand but that is my opinion, over all it is a very good beach but there are lots of rocks around it which are quite dangerous.
You cant groan because it is a volcanic island and yes I would visit the resort again.

I will only comment on the end of the resort where we stayed as the rest of Playa de las Americas is not quite so nice.
We stayed in the upmarket part of the resort by the Casino/Parque Santiago - the end nearest to Los Cristianos.
There ara a grweat choice of bars both catering for the British with entertainment and lots of upmarket chic bars, all reasonably priced.
There is a newly built shopping centre with shops such as mango and things are much cheaper than at home. there is alovely promenade right through the resort which continues to Los Cristianos which is a lovely walk.
The beach is of a good size at this end of the resort with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas but the only downside is that the dark sand has been mixed with golden sand from the sahara but the darker sand seems to manage to get to the top and stick to you!!
Although people say Playa is a dirty resort for youngsters and that is the case right in the Centre near Veronicas but at this end of the resort it 4 star hotels and apartments with loads of amenities there is no need to go into the centre unless you want to.
All in all my mum and I love it here and are going back for our 4th time in June!

I would not revisit las americas,as the main strip is just like a foreign version of blackpool, with people constantly hassling you to go into their bars and cockroaches all over the place.
Entertainment was ok.
Taxis are cheap, and all mercedes! Probably the most upmarket part of the holiday.
I think this would be a good holiday for a group of young lads, intending to just go out every night and get hammered!
Also dont be surprised if you get propositioned by a prositute, there was a hotel up the road from us which charged by the hour!!
Not ideal for a couple wanting a relaxing holiday with a bit of romance

We loved the resort. The San Euginio was great. We had to get a taxi there every day but it was worth it. The starbar was wonderful. Dave Tappin was a great entertainer.
We would visit this resort again

Bar area is pretty seedy ... which we liked! A Fair few bars, spent most of our time at The Mett Bar and Rags. Nightlife goes on until 5am and is pretty heaving with a good atmosphere. Loads of lads and honeys all looking for a good laugh and no trouble!
Loads of water sports if you like - we couldn't be bothered (were too hung over)!
Beaches were nice. Tried surfing off the reef but didn't have much luck, struggled to find a surf hire shop and the one we did find didn't have much equipment. A short taxi ride would probably find better beaches.
West side of resort (where we stayed) seems to be a bit cleaner and classier. Taxis were cheap and of 19 lads I only heard of one guy being ripped off (to the tune of 5 euro's - still not too bad).
Ideal for stag/hen week. Seriously top week - wish I was still out there!

It's a very upmarket part of Tenerife and is well policed and maintained. No touts allowed in the surrounding areas.
Well-stocked supermarkets nearby. The sea is but a step away from the complex. There was a fair amount of litter on the rocky parts but the complex itself is spotless.
The beach itself is a strange mix of the black volcanic and the golden sand that was imported and is now grey. Very hot in the middle of the day.

Lots of entertainment for all age groups. Abundence of restaurants, pubs and plenty of sun.

The resort itself was really clean and there is plenty of entertainment in the vast majority of pubs and nightspots around.the beach itself is good 15mins walk away from the hotel and there was only a couple of problems with the beach, one was the volcanic sand and the other was there seemed to be lots of cigarette ends on the beach.
