Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

Playa las Americas is a great place for a holiday. It has something for everyone. We particulary like the street of pubs behind the Safari Shopping Centre, especially the Brahms and Liszt and the Hole in the Wall Irish pub, where we had some great nights. We also had some lovely meals especially at the Chinese restaurant next to the Hole in the Wall and Martinis (one of the Little Italy restaurants). Martinis is situated on the same street as the Colombus Apartments and just down from the Jersey Cow Pub. The food and service are fantastic and we ate there twice in seven days. The beaches are very clean and the promenade is excellent. The only problem are the touts who are irritating but I am glad to say seem to be fewer in number this year. We had a lovely holiday and will be returning to Playa de las Americas without a doubt!

Playa de las Americas is improving. It looks almost finished. We have been coming for 21 years and you can now walk miles and miles along the Geranium Walk and it is very pleasant.
This year we did find it expensive to have drinks on the front but if you go back you will find real coffee shops where you can get a really good Latte for €1.20

Amazed we have visited the Island on and off for the last 17 years and it has been really cleaned up - however the euro is killing business and when we went it was a £ per euro. Try Amadeus in the marina for good food (cheap option) 3 courses 6.95 euro. Try local beers as european brands 3 - 4 euro per pint. Only thing is the competive resturant staff who vie for your business.

Oasis Golf Resort is a nice resort with good apartments and three good pools. The apartments are two stories and have a patio and a balcony and are well equipped. The downside is the location and the on-site prices. There is a supermarket with prices in the region of twice to four-times those in local supermarkets but the nearest one is a 20 minute walk down 'cardiac hill' and a 5 euro taxi ride back. It is a 40 minute walk to the bars, shops and restaurants in the centre of Los Cristianos.
The safe in our apartment was 'broken' so we had to pay 20 euros to use one in reception and we would have had to pay 4 euros a day to watch the television. There is limited and very amateurish evening entertainment.
The resort is set on the edge of a golf course but is just by the motorway and can be noisy. The area between the resort and Los Cristianos is undeveloped and resembles a large builders dumping ground and is not a pleasant area to walk through at all, especially at night. If you are prepared to stay within the resort and not move out and are prepared to pay their prices it would make for a reasonable holiday.

I used to live in Tenerife & much effort has been put into improvements generally. A good variety of shops, bars etc. & some nice walks.

las americas and los cristianos were very busy during the day but extremely quiet in the evenings.
had excellent food especially at miami beach in los cristianos, surfers bar and suzy's(golden house) chinese in americas.
prices were the same as last august, in fact somethings were cheaper.
visited siam park, which was great. loved the wave palace and lazy river. food was very expensive in the park, and they have no prices on display. e.g 25 euros for can of pepsi, coffee, burger and chips and nuggets and chips.we will take a packed lunch next time!
can't wait to return in august

What can you say about Las Americas! It is what it is.
Main reason we went there in February was because we wanted to get away from the British winter. We knew there wouldn't be hoards of youngsters because of the time of year and we were right.
It was quiet (also due to the credit crunch) but nice. Weather was a bit disappointing; quite windy and rained one day but warmish.
Lots of pubs and restaurants - one called American Dreamz does a fantastic fillet steak.
The touts can be a bit irritating but be firm and they will leave you alone.
Only thing was it was a bit expensive; mainly due to the Euro exchange rate but some places just charge too much. Our advice is if you're going self catering and you have kids - take some food with you. It could save you a fortune.

Love Tenerife altogether. Las Americas could really do with a major clean up - there's been lots of work done but the place is still dirty! Good job I love it so much I turn a blind eye! Los Christianos is looking good after all the renovations and extra seating around the harbour. Pity a couple of the smaller restaurants have lost their pretty decking out on to the beach where you could have lunch.
Just something the new or unwary visitor might want to be aware of: the money exchange kiosk at the Edif Cantabria just before you go under the tunnel from Las Americas to Los Christianos advertises a good rate and no commission - they actually charge a "Service Fee" of 15 cents in every Euro which they tell you about just as you're handing your sterling over!
Go on the Monte Carlo out of Los Christianos to watch the whales and dolphins - a great little boat, friendly and knowledgeable crew and we've seen them every time. Also Teide - on a trip or under your own steam, dedicated walkers can apply in advance for a permit to go to the actual summit which is the most wonderful experience. Combine with a night in the Parador del Teide in the National Park and you have experienced the two Tenerife's in one trip.

Fanabe where this hotel is situated is spotlessly clean there are lots of bars with entertainment to quite a high standard. It is quite expensive to eat out although there are several bars on the seafront that are offering 2 for 1 meals and pint of lager at 1 euro. The resort itself was really quite quiet and there seems to be many locals who are struggling to make a living as the increase in All Inclusive hotels is causing problems.
Overall, we had a great holiday and I would return to this resort.
