Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

The hotel has non stop entertainment. There is always something available to keep you entertained. Every room is in good location.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

My top tip is to get the bus from the airport as it stops at the top of the road by Magna Building save on transfers

the great big efforts made to smarten up Las Americas are let down by the numerous areas that are still simply grubby, tatty, dirty - all those and more, unfortunately! Get away from the Mare Mostrum area in Las Americas (which is simply stunning)and there's a lot of run down parts. Although there are improvemnts to the pavements in the area, The Patch and Veronicas are still in need of a major facelift. The numerous shabby and poorly lit alleys around the Columbus/ Cattleya are really horrible to walk through, night or day.
It's a pity to concentrate on renovating just the seafront areas - people still have to walk through the grubby bits to their hotels and these are not good impressions of an otherwise great holiday resort.

Its is 5 years since we last visited Las Americas. We did notice that a big effort has been made to clean up the resort. Ther are new pedestrian areas going all the way to Torviscas from Parque Santiago 2, which they were just doing the last time we visited. I also only saw one cockroach all week, and that was in the street.
The exchange rate is not helping , so the resort seemed a little quiet, but there is still plenty of entertainment to be had and good bars and restaurants.
A nice clean resort, whith plenty to do, several beaches and good restaurants. Will definately return next winter.

This was in no mans land. In neither resort, just in the middle of both. It was very expensive. Visited the Aqualand water park. Ordered 3 pizzas on cardboard slabs, not a plate to be seen, 1 hotdog and 3 cokes. Bill was £59. The Euro exchange rate is so low and they have put up their prices. Average meal for 2 adults and 2 kids with no alcohol was £40. Not very child friendly. Most restaurants had no kids meal and offered half portion of pasta for them.
My recommendation is dont come here. Even kids wanted to come home.

Player De Las Americas is a tourist resort with almost no Spanish culture, having said that, if you want a holiday to just relax, eat good food, and spend money in the shops then its perfect, the resort is kept very clean and there are plenty of security or police officers, so it feels quite safe although we saw no trouble at all, there are loads of excursions available to see the rest of the island if you wish, so don't let the touristy feel put you off,
Beaches are clean and the promenade from Americas to the neighboring resorts is level and easy to walk.

It was very noticable that there wasn't very many tourists and many shopkeepers complaining that the british were staying away partly to pound-euro and credit crunch, many shops shutting shop.
Food very expensive even supermarkets very highly priced feel sorry for the self catering holiday makers.
EG 2 x tuna salads 2 bread rolls 1 small soft drink £18.
2 x toasties 1 x portion fries 1x soft drink £12
One great thing is they have seemed to have sorted out the timeshare touts and we were not approached once

I believe the resort is now ageing, but there is still loads to do and gets bigger with every visit so there is something for everyone....(I would not go if I did not like it) having said that it is my winter resort and I would not dream of going there anytime after April or before Nov....

The resort area is very good for bars and restaurants, the choice is excellent. There are lots of music bars, including live music. You must visit and watch the beautiful water fountains to music, it's lovely. You can walk along the promonade for miles or just sit and watch the world go by!

Parque santiago 3 is a very fine resort. There are good facilities for children, otherwise little entertainment.
