Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

Playa de las Americas is becoming a most lovely resort to holiday at. Once Veronicas is demolished it will be near perfect. The shopping is wonderful, the walks along the coast are breathtaking, its very clean and safe too. A totally lovely place.

We hired a car and driving round Playa de las Americas was a bit of a nightmare but got used to it in the end.
We drove over the mountains and past the volcano which was stunning scenery and also went to Port de la Cruz which was worth a visit.
We visited other beaches on the island also but can't say that I found any of them pretty.
I would not actually want to return to Tenerife - I found the fact that you were constantly stopped by people trying to get you in to their establishments very annoying (especially after 10 days of it) overall I enjoyed the holiday, it was a break, but the island did not appeal to me at all.

Tenerife is an amazing place to go.
The resort is very clean but there is a smell that lingers in certain places.
All the night clubs are brilliant even though the pr's are a bit enticing.
You get good value for your money on the drinks if you go into a club with a pr.
Next to the hotel there is a couple of pubs you can go to Garfields is the best 1 its a little pub with a good selection of entertainment from drags to look a likes of famous singers.

The resort Playa De Las Americas was ok. I would maybe visit it again. Being 20years old Veronicas strip was brilliant however I do prefer Magaluf where I went last year. But overall Las Americas was ok.

Playa de las Americas has certainly been transformed over the last few years. Alot of work has been done to clean up the promenade walks, pedestrianisation of many roads etc. It's still a bit iffy going past the Veronica's on a night but the taxis are reasonable and you cab by-pass this bit to get along to the other end of the resort for some lovely shopping centres.
Trips we went on included a boat trip - didn't see any dolphins but loads of pilot whales - this might not be available from 2007 as they are trying to protect them as numbers are dwindling. Also went to Loro Parque which is fantastic but gets busy really quickly - see the dolphin and whale shows first as you mkight not get a seat later in the day. The food is expensive and a little basic in the park so take a packed lunch. The Medieval Night is brilliant - been about 5 times now and still have a grat laugh - you can get plastered on the cheap wine with the meal but it goes down alot easier with the orange juice. The bar after the meal is very expensive but by then you'll have drunk so much cheap plonk you won't need it! Have a great time.

5 minutes from Aqua Park with great dolphin show, you can be part of the Dolphin show and have pics kissing them too for 50 euros. Medievil night was good laugh and you can loose your voice shouting for your knight! Cheapo plonco and juice part of the package and 5 euros for a jug of bear. Beach is nice and clean and market very good which is a couple of times a week - good walking shoes required as its all uphill on way back to hotel or taxi for 4 euros. Loro Park meant to be excellent but we didnt want to leave hotel as it was so good.

The resort itself is very good, aquapark 5 mins down the road, worth paying the entrance fee just to see the dolphin show, its fantastic! Taxi down to beach costs between 3-5 euros, varies from taxi to taxi, seems they charge what they like although its on a meter!
There is a courtesy bus from malibu park every hour, but very confusing as to where they actually drop you off and pick you up, so better to get taxi.
Torviscus beach was lovely, there are some fantastic restuarants along the front, we ate twice at the mayte restaurant, food was lovely and very reasonable. The chinese restaurant under malibu park I would highly recommend aswell.
Quite a lot of stairs and hills to contend with, there is a lift down from the pool to where the chinese is, if you can find it!

I was not expecting the resort to be so clean! It was spotless and looked very new. If you decide to head up to the more british bars and towards the Veronica strip of bars it was less clean there but not what I would call dirty. The resort has a great selection of bars and clubs to suit any taste. The only downside is the constant hassle from PR's trying to drag you into their bars. Its not terrible but only go there if you feel you can hack it as someone with less patience might be tempted to tell them to go away.
The trip to see the whales and dolphins is definately worth doing - 2 hours was about right for us and cost us 18euros each from a local operator which we thought was reasonable. Some places charge up to 40euros for this trip so do shop around.
The best beach is down at Los Christianos which will take you about 30 mins to walk to. Its worth walking though as there is a lovely costal path all the way there and you can watch the surfers on the way!
Overall, I would thoroughly recommend this resort and the hotel. I think we had excellent value for money.
