Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

Playa De Las Americas. Good beaches, loads to see and do. The bar touts get a bit annoying and the "looky looky" men are a pain but in a weird way funny. Keep and eye out for people when using cash machines. There was a great steak house we ate at. Its called Haciemda Miranda and has wagon wheels on the front. Its on the opposite side of the road from Leonardo's and jsut round the corner. They have a mexican side and a italian side. Id recommend the steak Diablo, its lovely and very well priced. Staff are very freindly. Dont go the the restaurant next door, we did and the service and food was rubbish. Watersports seemed to be much the same price either end of the beach, 12 euros for a peddelo and 40 euros for a jet ski for 30 mins. Paradise island (right next to the bungee rocket) did a huge mixed grill bbq for a great price. The aqua park was good but a bit of a rip off. Once in everything costs a fortune and you even have to rent a dingy to use so as to be able to go on some rides. Its good for kids though and the big slides are free. Medival night is a excellent excersion, def do that. Theres a few shops on the beach named comet selling cameras etc. Obviously its not commet from the uk so i wouldnt recommend buying from there. The beaches are clean and so is the sea, the resort its self looks a bit dirty. Id definetly go again though.

Resort very clean, especially in Santiago 1-111 areas. Beaches clean and plenty of space even though it was high season.
Plenty of bars and restaurants with reasonable prices.
Restaurants - Little Italy, the Chinese and the Mexican (all on the beach front at Americas) good food and prices. Recommended.
Would visit again.

As we were all looking for good night life Las Americas definately filled this criteria! The streets were clean, some building work going on near our hotel but no noise.
We walked into town every night and got a taxis home for about 5euro. Plenty of pubs and clubs to choose from, if you get brought in by a PR it costs bout 6-7.50 for two drinks.
Never went to the beach but passed it on the bus looked nice plenty of sun loungers.
Clubs closed at 5am and I would definately go back. As we were staying on the outskirts we never experienced any night life noise but I know there was people staying near the bars and it would hav been slightly harder to sleep.

Hated most of what I saw of Playa de las Americas and was glad we opted for an out of resort hotel to retreat to. Only went into town three times to eat and that was okay if you went early evening when it was still light. Otherwise it was like a down market holiday resort in England but quite a bit sunnier! Full of English/Irish bars, American diners and loud mouthed yobs!
Some nice excursions are available at reasonable prices. Did the whale and dolphin watching which was brill. The sea front was pleasant and we found a nice Spanish restaurant to watch the sun go down over the sea "La Ballena".
Would return to the area only because of the weather and the hotel we stayed in.

Playa les Americas,
Best places to eat are Costa Adeje and around about by the Park Santiago 3 area, the nicest Restaraunt we found and returned a couple of times is Sugar and spice opposite Park Santiago 2, absolulty gorgeous food.
We found a little bar along the Playa Vistas Beach (cant remember the name) but ''Rod Stewart'' seems to be the resident entertainer he was brilliant! had us in stiches each time we visited.

nice resort, you get a bit fed up with the reps outside all the food outlets etc trying to get you to eat there, but you have loads of nice eating places, once you have been in one electrical/cam shop youve seen em all, good fun to haggle on prices, we found bargains you have to keep haggling till you get to the real price, we found the veronica strip a bit rough and they had police there a few nights, the water sports are good, dont book on the beach tho, go through your reps, it saves queing for jet skis etc, paracending is brilliant, i thought it was a bit like blackpool but hotter really, i doubt we will go again

Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas was very commercialised and you have to avoid a constant stream of young people giving you (free) lottery tickets whereby at least one of your party will win "the star prize".
Don't fall for it because it is all promotion of some kind or another. We won a holiday for four consisting of flights and accomodation (and after enduring a tour of a time share restort which we politely cut short at the earliest opportunity) when you read the small print it is virtually impossible for a family with children to take up the "prize" and you have to do a "hospitality tour" when you are there. It is just selling timeshare.
Also the resort if rife with people dragging you off the street into restaurants. We found the best places to eat were the ones where you were left alone to read the menu and we can recommend Goodfellas along the front in Los Cristianos where we ate several times. Their Sunday lunch is the best we have ever had.
We did however find the resort to be full of wonderful shops and our boys spent a lot of time on the trampolines on the front in Los Cristianos where we were able to enjoy the odd cocktail or two in the bars overlooking the trampolines. It was a great place to visit in the evening as there was so much going on.
You need to rise above the commercialism and enjoy the rest that this resort has to offer.

We visited Los Christianos on a couple of occasions but we thought that it had seen better days.
The nicest area was Las Vistas it is all new and very clean we would definitely vist this area again and stay in one of the hotels near by.

Las America's hasn't changed much over the years it is still a bit dirty and smelly. We stayed at the Torviscas end of the town which was a lot quieter.
There were no touts at all and the police were out on the promanade for most of the day moving along the hair braiders who were a little pushy at times (thankfully I have short hair so I was left alone).
The Lucky Lucky men are still there selling there own brand products. We tried a few of the pubs but we ended up most nights at the The Cheshire Cat, Steve and Derek are the greatest hosts, if you like kareoke then the list of songs they have is endless and take it from me even if you can't sing can still have a go and get a round of applause.
