The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Thought Puerto Rico was good fun, lots to do and good beaches.
Afraid I wouldn't go back because of my accommodation experience in Malibu though.

I have been to this resort about 10 times. The Amadores beach is really good and is spotless, there is also plenty of restaraunts to choose from which is great.
The two main centres the Eureopa & The Commercial is where you will find your bars & restaraunts of which there are plenty.

All the pubs and restaurants are very clean. The entertainment here is great no matter what age you are or what music you like. They cater for all. The beach is nice too but look out for the sunbed charges and they even charge to use the umbrellas.
We have been to Puerto Rico 3 times now and will definately be going back. If anyone is thinking of going away for Christmas or New Year I can definitely recommend Puerto Rico.

The resort was much more commercialised than we expected and the Europa Centre spoiled the upper area. The beach and facilities at Amadores was superb as was the harbour in Puerto Rico.
Generally very clean with lots to do but if you like it a bit quieter and more sofistocated then get a taxi or ferry to Port Mogan. Probably where we will stay next Christmas

I would definitely visit Puerto Rico again. Possibly not in high summer season, think it would be a bit too rowdy, but when we visited (Xmas/new year) it was mainly families & older groups which meant the atmosphere was really good, everyone was having a relaxing, fun time, & there were no groups of drunken idiots to spoil it!
The weather was fantastic (80+ degrees every day) but we were exceptionally luckily, its not always so hot & sunny at that time of year.
All the bars & restaurants were very busy but not so much that you couldn't get served. The drinks prices vary greatly from place to place, so check that out (in some places its 1euro a pint, in others 3euro) Also, beware of 2-4-1 offers on drinks, you'll find they are alot more expensive to start with so they're not actually giving you anything (if you actually only want 1 drink, you're effectively paying double.)
There is a massive choice of places to eat, most are superb. You could easily be there for 2 weeks & not visit the same restaurant twice, my advice is to try as many as you can! There are chinese restaurants where you can eat as much as you like for 6euro (£4) We were dubious because it was so cheap, but it really was delicious!
The beach near the harbour is great, very convenient as lots of bars & cafes nearby. It was very windy though which got kind of annoying sometimes!
If you don't mind a bit of a walk, (about 20mins) go around the headland to Amadores beach which is man-made but really lovely, with loads of shops, bars etc set around the crescent-shaped bay. The sand is more coarse there too, so doesn't blow everywhere!
All in all, I'd give Puerto Rico 9 out of 10 for a winter destination.

Puerto Rico is very clean, and full of friendly people, weve been 3 times now and will definately be going back. Many times. Theres lots of bars for all tastes and ages and lots of very nice restaurants. All reasonably priced too. The beach is nice and clean and we didnt mind paying the 2.5 euros for the padded loungers but extra for a brolley is a bit unreasonable.
We are going back in December and the couple who came with us loved it as it was their first time, they have said they will definately be booking to go back soon.

Stayed in Puerto Rico and had a great time, would recommend the food at Churchill's, Miami restaurant.
Must go to Bubbles restaurant, staff there are very friendly, and helpful, the food is good. Visit the Shamrock bar great entertainment, in the form of Gareth B talk about the "gift of the gab" great!.
Beach was about 10 min walk away with loads of sunbeds! Eating out is very cheap, loved Puerto Rico, can't wait to go again!

Port mogan charming Great eating places at marina. Public pool a very good idea for families. Plenty good walking in area. Avoid commercial centre at night. too much hard sell. We hope to vist again and will stay at the quiet of the marina next time.
