The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Pueto Rico is a great resort with plenty of entertainment,nightlife and good restaurants.
It would suit any hoiday maker, although it is very steep and there are alot of steps, taxi fares are quite reasonable.
Our two favourite spots were the Barbacoa(3 free live shows per night) and Maryd's bar (staff are really friendly, atmostphere and music are great)which are both located in the Europa Center(about 4euros from the main shopping center).

Puerto Rico is a very clean place to visit, regular bin men pick ups for all the rubbish from the hotels, pubs, clubs and restaurants.
Entertainment to suit all. Irish themed pubs, clubs for younger teenagers and also restraunt bars for a quiter night. Vast amount of trips are also on offer. From visiting the aquapark to going on boat trips to see the dolphins and whales.
Puerto Rico beach is spectacular - parasol and sunbeds are hired and cost €7.50 for 2. When the weather is hot though you have to make sure that you wear something on your feet as the sand will burn.
I would definitely be coming back to Puerto Rico but in a month that is not as hot.

As this was our third visit to Puerto Rico we knew what to expect. There is absolutly loads to do in the bottom centre and we've never even been at the top centre. Lots of places to eat out and all are very reasonable in price.
We went to the waterpark which is great especially for big kids and on a boat trip called 'lazy days' which was a brilliant day to relax.
We all love Puerto Rico and cannot wait to go back!

Puerto Rico is a great place to stay. There are bars and restaraunts to cater for everyone. El Cenador and Oscars were two of my favourites. I would also recommend the Taj Palace Indian restaurant near the marina. Taxis are cheap and plentiful, unfortunately the same applies for Lookie - Lookie men. There are cats everywhere, we tried to bring a few home in our suitcase but they escaped in the airport. Not really. There are three mini golf courses in Puerto Rico as well as a large shopping center (The Commercial Centre). The resort is generally quite clean and the beach seems to be too. We will be going back in the near future.

Very nice resort with plenty to do, hill walking especially! Some good shops for the ladies handbags, etc. Didn't really have a bad meal and I would highly recommend El Toro steak house and Restaurante Mephisto. La Fiesta good all round fun and the Irish bars we liked.
Only bad thing is the people trying to get you in bars and restaurants - they can start to wind you up.
Best beach is Amadores which is about 0.5 miles walk from Puerto Rico and is worth seeing. All in all very nice.

Having not been to Puerto Rico for 8 years noticed a big difference.Found it a little tacky and not very clean( pavements need a good power wash) also did not find the Spanish as friendly as they used to be. Think they have started taking the tourists for granted though apparently this is their worst year for tourism in a long time. Thats just my personal opinion and I,m sure lots will disagree. Having said that the entertainment is good and would recommend Scruffy Murphys bar in the Commercial centre and Picasso restaurant across from the Europa centre and Flicks in the Europa for a good English breakfast with friendly service.

Puerto Rico is a great place to go. The Europa and Central Commercial Centre are tacky though. Plenty to see and do and some really nice beaches. A very clean and tidy resort.

Having been to Puerto Rico a few times before, I knew what to expect, but first impressions could put a lot of people off.
Most obviously the elderly or infirm have a hell of a job negotiating all the steps and hills, but the taxis are all immaculate and cheap. The shopping centre could do with a spruce up and all the looky looky men and the British "touts" could do with being removed, and I hear there is a bit of a drug problem now although i didn’t see this for myself.
The beach is safe nice and clean and although i much prefer the Amodores beach I think the PR beach is safer for the kids.
Anyway all in I love Puerto Rico, in fact i returned on Tuesday and this is Thursday and I have already booked 2 weeks next July.... can’t wait!!

Found Puerto Rico to be a lovely, well balanced resort. Enough to keep you busy without being too rowdy.
Big emphasis on water based activities with regular boat trips, paragliding, speed boat rides, etc available.
Only problem we found were the shopkeepers pushing their products with hard sell. This is something we find annoying and uncomfortable. There are also the usual touts trying to con you into a timeshare presentation - made that mistake last year, never again. Although to be fair, I'm sure these problems are the same wherever you go.
