The actual apartment itself was lovely. The maintenance staff were lovely. But I can't recommend for a relaxing holiday or enjoyable time by the pool...

Amadores beach - a pleasant walk along from Puerto Rico beach - is beautiful and exceptionally well kept. You are even provided with beach ashtrays.
Taxis are very cheap and there are plenty. Las Vegas Steakhouse in the downtown nightlife, upper floor, is brilliant. We ate there every night!
Staff are very friendly, portions are huge and delicious. Really enjoyed Puerto Rico, very clean and friendly.

Resort consisted mainly of one long main road where you had to be careful of the heavy traffic.
There was a good selection of bars and resaurants along this road. We were fortunate that the beach was behind our hotel so we did not use the main beach in the resort.
There were plenty of local buses to the other main resorts however taxis often worked out cheaper and more convenient.

Thought Puerto Rico was very nice, it was my first time, my partner's second visit. The 2 beaches are very nice, plenty of sunbeds, and plenty of watersports etc.
The commercial centres where nice but after 2 weeks, the pestering got a bit much. With every restaurant/bar been in one centre, you couldn't take one step without been pestered and stopped. But i suppose you get that everywhere.
Plenty of taxi's whizzing about and cheap fares, taxi's are a godsend in puerto rico due to the hills!! But it keeps you fit whilst on holiday!!!

All rubbish.
Dont go there. Waste of time and money worse holiday I have ever had.
Pay more and get more. Pay less and get a bad bad holiday thats the lesson I learnt.

ALL the bars/pubs/clubs/restraunts are aimed towards british tourist and there was nothing traditional or spanish about anywhere!
There were gypsies trying to con you out of money and drug dealers all around the main commercial centre. You cannot eat here without the "looky looky" men bothering you trying to sell you watches etc.
Completly tacky. Every restraunt served the same food, nothing traditional.
The bars and clubs were really good fun and not too over the top. The beach was small but clean.

Puerto Rico was a lovely place with plenty to do. We would recommend anyone whos going to go on the 'Red Boat' which is down by the harbour. It is a big ski boat which takes you out for 30 mins and is so much fun. The hotel however was abit out the way as it was at the top of the hill which was hard work to keep walking up and down. This was easily solved though by the use of taxis, which were very cheap and there was plenty of them. The 'Amadores beach' was superb. Overall we would definately recommend it and come back again.

The resort accomadates everybody from 0 to what ever age. it makes you feel young about your self. any body who is thinking of travelling to puerto rico would definately give the alatmar a go as it is a dream holiday from what ever age even if you have kids, if they are happy you will be happy.

I would go back to this resort again just not to the same appartments loved the entertainmet at the Europa centre and also it was only 3euros down to the commercial centre.

The resort of Puerto Rico is only about a ten minute walk away. The resort has a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes, while the two commercial centres offer plenty of shops.
However I would advise people with walking difficulties to avoid Puerto Rico, as the resort has many steps and is very steep, but it keeps you fit while on holiday!
All in all, a fantastic hotel, in a fantastic resort and certainly worth a visit, if your thinking of visitng.

All or nothing,commercial centre(busy),Europa centre(quieter),apart from that restaurants dotted about all over,and the odd bar,touts do your head in after a while(same old patter(only trying to earn a living I suppose).
Beach was decent but busy with locals Sat/Sun,not a problem though,very hilly. Me personally, maybe see you in Greece or somewhere next year! Once bitten,twice very shy!
