Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

The hotel has non stop entertainment. There is always something available to keep you entertained. Every room is in good location.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

My top tip is to get the bus from the airport as it stops at the top of the road by Magna Building save on transfers

playa de las americas is a lovely place lots of entertainment and places to go. the water park is amazing too

Definately not the place for people with walking difficulties, as I even struggled.The Hill this was a nightmare, not much to do in this part of Tenerife

We found las americas very nice the bars next to the Orlando were good we went to Amanda's bar most nights before we went to veronicas and it was a scream with all the different acts on. I am not a one for Cochroaches and there was a few on a nightime but we didnt have any in our rooms.
I did have an excellent time but i wouldnt go back to Orlando but I would go back to Tenerife tomorrow.
Also go on the Catamaran its great.

Tt's like a lot of places good parts and bad.Some of the island is a steep walks so walk one way and get acab back there cheap enough. We saw litter dropped in beautiful parts of the Island which is a shame but that happens anywhere .The beaches have plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas . There are fun water slides etc for the kids ( lifejackets are put on for this for children as the water is still deep) The entertainment is excellent with lots of bars , for all plenty of eating outlets too and very reasonably priced. We didnt go down to Veronica's but around Puerta Colon which had some great bars and at Colon Beach bar Donna and Les sing and entertain you ,also great Elvis there twice a week and Neil Diamond where you can also have a 3 course meal for 5 euros. Las america is a lovely and lively place to be and fun for everyone.......... If your going to be late back grab a cab only about 5 euro's and you'll get back to your apartment in good hands.

Playa De Las Americas was very very busy,we were dissapointed in the cleanliness of the streets and beaches. Beware there is a very large number of time share people out to pester you! Plenty bars and restaurants to choose from and lots designer shops,lovely promonade walk to Los Christianos if you get peace!

Resort is cool - if a little run-down. I last went here in summer 2003 - and at that time, veronicas was RAMMED. Summer 2005 and veronicas is looking very tired. A few bars are closed - most are open though. The bars opposite (an area known as Starco) - seems much more trendy now. There is tramps, rags, edwards and others - much more modern and clean. We didn't see any trouble in the 5 nights we were there - but I bet there was a fight most nights somewhere. Be aware !

Not as tacky as I expected. The usual mix of souvenier shops and bars but with some up market shops thrown in. The food is very cheap, chinese buffet for 5.5 euro per person which were great and the steak houses are also worth a try. The beach isn't great but okay to visit once or twice.
You have to barter in every shop which can get on your nerves and the looky-looky men are everywhere, we had no problems with time share reps. Aqualand and the jungle park were great but loro parque is about 2hours away.

Playa de las Americas is not really my idea of a place for families, the resort centre is really pretty tacky.
So the poor ratings are for Playa de las Americas, but Los Cristianos (just 10min walk along the coast) is another thing altogether; cleaner and altogether more civilised.

The resort looked as if it needed a lot of work doing to it, big gaps of waste ground on the walk down to las americas centre.
The bars and restaurants all were nice, even found one for a playstation for the kids.
The Beach was lovely, very hot on the feet even in flip flops. Water sports great fun and well priced, they will even strike a deal with you on the price of the jet skis if there is enough of you. All in all a great hliday.

The resort is excellent and all prices reasonable which all makes for a good holiday.
