Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

My top tip is to get the bus from the airport as it stops at the top of the road by Magna Building save on transfers

Resort was lovely at night the only thing were the hookers but they were far enough way not to bother us.
Plenty of shops etc and taxis everywhere and bus service.

Beach has grey sand but clean(yellow sand one not far away) with jet skis and pedalo's for hire. Bars on the beach are aspecially good at night. Not to many touts around, only want you to eat, buy something or have hair braided. Lots of restuarants, bars and shops close by. Nice promenade for long evening strolls. Nearby busy marina for boat trips to see dolphins.

We were in the resort of Playa de las Americas which some people may think is quite lively, it is if you stay near to Veronicas complex as that is where the pub crawls take place and the nightlife is there.
There was loads to see and do with plenty of entertainment on an evening and plenty of places to eat out I would highly reccommend doing the Loro Parque excursion and maybe the Jeep Safari if you have enough time the only thing I was quite dissappointed in was the beach of Playa de las Americas as it was black sands but you will find that in all the canary islands.

Resort was fairly clean, but watch the pavements as they are very slippery when wet and there are a few bad spots around.
Entertainment was good. Beach looked ok.

Everything you'd expect from a busy, popular resort. Playa De las Americas has good parts and not so good parts.
Enjoyed the musical fountain in Parque Santiago area and some good entertainment around Torviscas Beach and Puerto Colon. Particulary loved the live band 'The Lizard Kings' playing at the Moonlight bar near the Torviscas Hotel, very professional.

Very well maintained resort good access for all mobility types wide range of facilities available.
Sea front excellent, range of beach types from coarse sand to rocks good for surf boarding, fishing and trips out for whale watching and dolfins
Locals very friendly and polite, good standard of low cost local transportation.
Range of fast food or good quality restuarants
Yenerife south airport quick and efficient
Holiday lived up to its expectations and beyond

Playa de Las Americas was much as we remembered it from a previous visit We love the beach in front of the Mare Nostrum Resort but prefer Los Cristianos for its more family orientated appeal

We really enjoyed the resort, 3 cheap markets a week, once on the beach theres a nice flat walk all the way from Las Americas to Christianos. Sand is no way golden, even on golden beach but it is seen as clean as could be.
