Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

The hotel has non stop entertainment. There is always something available to keep you entertained. Every room is in good location.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

ground floor rooms near the pool and sporting jester for all your needs even a bookies for horse racing

My top tip is to get the bus from the airport as it stops at the top of the road by Magna Building save on transfers

Everywhere we went people were trying to sell you things from scratch cards to time share, trying to get you in bars, and people selling toys, sunglasses ect.
The beaches were nice and clean, and there were some lovely restaurants, but we like to walk round without being accosted constantly.
I wouldn't go back to Playa de las Americas again.

Playa de las Americas is a nice resort, depending what you look for in a holiday. If it's a lively time your after, then you'll certainly find it at Veronicas - but beware of the drinks promos, biggest rip-off I've ever come across.

It really all depends where you are, I think los cristianos and play are completely different.
I would go back to Los cristianos in a second, I don't think I will ever go back to Playa.
Play is dirty, old, in need of serious upgrade and repair. Los cristinos on the other hand was the opposite and this goes for the beaches as well as the bars, clubs and placed to eat.

The beach and coast path are very clean and pleasant. Playa Torviscas had plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. It has signs with maps telling you where everything is (toilets, bars, showers etc). There are slatted wooden board walks all along the beach which were useful. There are two official beach bars which played good music and served ice cold beer.
There are plenty of little shops and bars and restaurants. We were surprised at how many of them had people outside trying to entice us in. There were also a lot of time-share and other hawkers which we didn't like.
Generally the people there were all friendly and we never pressured at all.
We didn't have a chance to sample the boat rides or other excursions but would like to go back to try them.

We stayed outside the resort but that suited us. The beach was good at Playa de Las Vistas - pale grey sand and small shells. Good for digging if you have children!
Plenty of restaurants all good with children, plenty of highchairs etc and lots of attention for the children from waiters! Probably a bit manic in the height of Summer and late at night but we were well away from that staying at the Green Golf

When arriving in Playa de las Americas I had expectations of very busy nightlife with great bars and clubs down Veronicas strip. Major dissapointment!!! The area was extremly built up with grotty looking restaurants and empty bars.
Street sellers everywhere selling tat and were very intimidating and harrassed you even when trying to eat a meal. The prostitutes at night were a little unnerving too especially when their business was conducted outdoors in public.
Las vistas beach is the nicer beach and the centre where Harrys bar and the Waterfountain is is probably the nicest part. I doubt I will return.

We thought the resort was excellent plenty of good value places to eat.
The bars were great free cocktails everywhere!! The best bars are on Veronicas. There is plenty to do in Playa de las Americas the boat trip on the catameran is well worth it.

We usually go to Los Cristianos and were a bit concerned that Playa would be noisy. However this particular spot was quiet and had the benefit of being next door to Mango! so - frequent visits there.
The restaurants seemed to offer cheap and cheerful food, cheap breakfasts, etc. and the evening meals we had were not to be recommended.
There is a lovely walk along the seafront to Cristianos, (about 10 minutes) where there is also a decent beach with beds and brollies. It is flat and very suitable for wheelchairs or older people who may find it hard to walk on slopes.
There are limited places to walk to here but we took a car to Teide and this is always worth return visits as you forget how wierd it is up there.
On previous trips we have enjoyed Oratava.

Beach area near the hotel I found in excellent condition, plenty of sunbeds (at a small price)
Plenty of bars that cater for all needs young and old.
I will go back to Las Americas I really enjoyed the area.
Teenagers will love this for the nightlife.
