Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.
All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views

We visited Mary Rogan's Irish bar and it was a brilliant night. The breakfast in the aberdeen steak house was enormus and only a short walk away. i love Las Americas and I have been there eight times. I am going again in August.

The night life was great, anywhere on this resort you would be entertained. There are lots of shops and resturants to suit all needs. The waterpark and other activities are all good. The resort is very well kept.

we always stay at the torviscas end of the resort and the entertainment and resturants are first class and the beach only a few minutes walk

the resort of Playa de las americas is fairly clean and tidy however there is an alot of building work going on but dont be put off alot of the bars and clubs have entertainment and most bars allow children inside .the beachs are good but depending on which part you go you can find anything for black sand to golden beachs or a mixture of both we found the best beach was in los cristanios although sun loungers can vary in price
on whole this is a lovley place to visit and take the kids a good trip is to mount teide although kids may get a little fed up but be warned is 20 euros on top to go up in the cable car for each adult and 10 euros per child. freebird one is an excellent trip if you dont get sea sick that is bit pricey but well worth it but remember to take a change of clothes with you.loro park is good but do try the agulius park as well bird of prey show is a must fantastic

we stayed in playa de las americas and found it a great family holiday. There was always something to do for all ages and we were never bored.
The beaches were clean and well taken care off as you could watch them being cleaned in a morning.
Entertainment was great although when eating out or going for a drink the pr people outside can drive you nuts by the end of the week, begging for your business.
The boat trips are a must and excellent value, beware of the water park as you not only have to pay entrance fee, you then have locker fees, bed fees(there is no other option than to hire beds as there is no where else to sit), Dolphin training fees, and the food and drinks are very dear once you are in(you can not take your own).
Shopping facilities are great, supermarkets are every where.
Its a must go resort. Definatly going back.

Having been to Tenerife - Playa de las Americas for the first time 24 - 31 October 03, couldn't wait to get back. Was completely hooked with the place. Plenty to see & do. Main highlight - the weather & friendly people. Definately booking up again for next year. Like at the hotel pool & down the beach. Good entertainment, whether it be out or in. Definately a place in my heart!

Playa Fanabe is the fashionable end of las Americas. Quiet with none of the drunkeness associated with LA.

The resort was very clean, the beach was a bit of a walk away and so only visited the beach once but while we were there we found the beach to be clean with sunbeds and umbrellas.
I would cretainly visit this resort again.

The beach was really nice although we only went twice as it was too hot for the little one. There was a soft play on beach front for kids it was really good. Loads of shopping centres and things for the children. I would say only one bad point about it which was the people trying to get you in to the restaurants to have your evening meal they were pestering you all the time. But otherwise a really good holiday, would definately go back again.

Did not like the constant harassment of restuarant workers trying to get you into their premises for food and drink.
Many times we had to cross the road to get out of their way. It was absolute nonsense and got to the stage where it was spoiling the holiday as you felt like not going out after a certain time at night.
However we noticed a lack of timeshare people this time around which was a bonus!!
