Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

The english bars on the parque de la paz stretch are very good apart from the fact they are getting a little expensive on the drinks side. But if you like a good old game of bingo and superb prize money then head straight there, you will not be dissapointed.

Aquapark a must (go to the Dolphin Show - brilliant). Beach clean and plenty of watersports, etc. Loads to do everywhere in the resort. Good food in the main. Loads of British Pubs and entertainment. Try Scotties for a karaoke. Crazy Golf a good laugh. Boat trips available everywhere. I'd go back in a minute. Weather fantastic. Watch out for 'looky-looky' men and go with your wife \ girl to the market as some of the traders tend to grab at them. See website www.holidayripoff.bravehost.com for another small blip. Overall - magic.

We felt that the resort was very lively and offered various types of entertainment, some of which were not to our taste or particularly suitable to children. The resort was very clean and the standard of the beach areas were exceptional.

Las Americas is a bit like Blackpool with sunshine, but good fun. The beach was nice and clean with sunbeds costing 12 Euros per day.

people everywhere trying to get you to come into their bar or restaurant - gets a bit annoying after a while

I have been to this area 3 times and really like it. It has a reputation for being wild and noisy but I have not found this to be the case. I do tend to go at Easter when it is quieter though.
There is certainly plenty of choice which I like but you can pick and choose your activities. There is nothing worse than being restricted to a handful of bars and restaurants every night. In this resort there are numerous hotels, shops, bars and clubs to choose from.
There is a beautiful walk round the coast from Los Christianos, past Las Americas and up to Torventis (I think)which is two or three miles but, again, has lovely beaches and numerous bars etc to stop at.
I would recommend being closer to Las Americas than Los Christianos because there is more to it. Also a really nice restaurant that we found on the main Las Americas strip called Banana Garden. Don't let the name or the frontage put you off.....you go downstairs to a lovely large but cosy bar/restaurant. The food is mainly mexican but has other things too. It was very nice and reasonably priced. It has a family atmosphere and you can take your time and eat up to and after midnight. They have flamenco dancing every night. Very enjoyable and obviously popular with those that know about it.
There is, of course, people trying to sell you watches and stuff and others trying to con you with scratch card/time share scams. IGNORE THEM they soon get the message.

The resort is all things to all men, quiet corners can be found as well a lively spots. Restaurants are plentiful, if all serving roughly the same menu. Beaches are clean and trouble free. The only down side are a Londoners that pounce on you, trying to con you into taking a lottery ticket from them. Do it at your peril, I’m not saying it’s a con but even the locals tell them to push off back home. Nice to see the British con artists have a good reputation abroad.

The Fañabé beach was great, very clean, friendly and much quiter than Playa de Las Americas. We really recommend to stay there if you want to go to Tenerife. If we visit Tenerife again we would choose Fañabé!

We stayed in Playa de las Americas. The shopping was brilliant if you want to buy perfumes or make-up.it was quite well maintained, everything was within walking distance and it was pleasant to go out for a walk in the evening.
The beach was a HUGE disappointment. Although it was dark volcanic sand, the sea was dirty and the beach on the whole was far from clean.
