Near the Andorra are a group of bars. Check out The Soul Bar. Also The Restaurant Margarita -really good food. Great music especially by Mikey Mike who works in both places.

All rooms are good in this quite hotel with most having sea views
Avoid booking a studio without stipulating 'NOT FACING THE WALL' as we were allocated a room looking directly at a high wall 12' from our balcony even although we had requested a sea or pool view. Check directly with the hotel well in advance.

Been to this part of Los Americas twice now and it has got something for everybody. Great shopping, although clothes seem a similar price as to the shops in England. Go to Mayas store near Veronicas for electrical items and Gameboy games as the Parque Santiago shops will generally rip you off! Shop around and dont think the first shop with a friendly 'Asian' face outside it, trying to get you in is offering genuine bargains! The beaches are great and try the Banana boat. Kids and the dad loved that. Jungle Park is a agreat day out, lots of climbing on their adventureland. Take a picnic cos food is expensive, but a trip not to miss, especially the Vulture show. Don't go if you look like you're gonna drop dead or they'll have you!! The best entertainment is at the hotel Conquistador just opposite the Bitacora. Don't miss the Beijing acrobats. Brilliant!! Great resort, great holiday, will go again.

we were 5 mintues walk to port colon.lovely little place but beware of ticket touts they follow you with a scratch ticket that you always win and they just want your money tell them you have no credit card with you thay will leave you alone and the african women who ask you if you want your hair braid, they are both very pushy.and give you the flithys of looks if you say no.
the beach was lovely and there are plenty of little resturants along the front a little more pricey but you are paying cause its a sea view.resort was very clean.beach was black sand and when it was wet it was like mud but a quick dip in the sea got rid of it.i have put yes i would visit again but i do like going to difrent places so maybe no but i enjoyed my time here
we went on a freebird boat the watch whales and dolphins and saw both.cost us about 74 euros and the kids were free.half a head for a 6 year old of hair braiding cost me 15 euros you do have to haggle i had one lady who wanted to charge me 35 euros i told her no way.if you are having hair braid ask for alicia and fatama they are under the tree near the beach..these are the only ones that smiled and were pleasant.
around the hotel resort there were plenty of resturants.we like marios and the chinese and the end of the road.the rum pot was a lovely little pub right across the road.and also the irish bar next to that.walk down left out of the hotel and there was a little shopping area.
the area we were in was lovely but im sure there is plenty more to see than we did we had a taxi ride out to playa des americas shopping area.fantastic classy place but very expensive.

Completely overtaken by the ticket touts who are getting persistently more desperate - they dont care if you are elderly, couples, single, have children, or are british anymore they are following everyone and thrusting the cards at you ... if you ignore them or dont make eye contact or even say a polite no you get a mouthful of abuse off them ... by the end of the holiday we had had enough of the harassment and had to be very firm to get rid of them - even speaking in spanish didnt work !!!
the beaches were all very good and our children loved these, would definitely recommend a glass bottom boat ride ... managed to see several whales swimming with their babies from under the boat and it was an amazing sight ...
I would also recommend going to mount teide at night if you go to tenerife ... it definitely made the trip for us ... cost 300 euros for 2 adults and 2 children but it was worth every cent ... a convoy of land rovers took us up to Vilaflor to a restaurant and we ate looking down on the top of the clouds (perfect photo opportunity) then we went up a level and had a glass of champagne while the sun set, then up to the top level of the volcano where we were met by an astronomer who showed us all the different constellations ... we were lucky and visited during a meteor shower and saw several shooting stars and satellites orbiting ... it was the most breath-taking sight ever and I wouldnt want anyone to miss what we saw that day ... the tour guides are amazing too giving you info on everything you pass and looking after you all the way ... one of them took pictures of everyone and you could buy them or buy a cd for 20 euros (which we did) which had lots of extras on it - I would highly recommend !!!

Lots of good restaurants. Nice beach thanks to imported sand. Fair bit of building work going on - it will be good when it's finished

The resort in particular was extremely clean, with no trash what so ever clogging up the streets. A few fag butts lying around, but apart from that it was very clean indeed.
The entertainment in Playa De Las Americas was highly amusing, with whatever floats your boat! Whether it's karaoke, clubbing, performances from decent entertainers all round, or even just hilarious waiters .. you surely wont be bored in this resort. Every night their is a new place to go to, 5 minutes away from the hotel, but further down (about 30 minutes walk), there is the younger end of town with people aged roughly 18-25! So whatever age you are there is always the right place for you.
The beach was just round the back of the hotel, and my advice to get their is to go left out of the hotel, and follow it round. We went right down the other end of town on one of our first days to find the beach, and ended up at the rockiest part of Tenerife! Bear in mind it is a volcanic island. But for soft black sand and surfers waves, just take a 10 minute walk around the block and you'll soon see the horizon!
I would definately visit Playa De Las Americas again, as it is such a wonderful place! No other words to describe it, like I said we're returning here in just a few months! Please do not have any doubts about your holiday, as I garuntee it will be highly enjoyable and probably one of your favourites. x

The Bitacora is well situated.
Veronicas 10 min walk.
Beautiful shopping area 5 min walk.
Beach 5-10 min walk.
Bars, restaurants all 3-5 min walk.
Tony Romas American diner - an absolute must - 5 min walk.
The beaches are fine if you like to go there, but buy some decent water shoes to wear in the sea because it is rocky and they are sharp.
Beware of many dangerous objects sticking out of the ground. In tenerife they chop something down and just leave it with a dangerous finish. Safety does not come in to it over there .Keep a close eye on your little ones.

Costa Adeje was, thankfully, a quite resort - many roadworks going on at present but this is only going to be advantageous to the resort, but does cause alot of dust and dirt - many nice places to eat - Francis' just before Laguna Park 1 - the staff were very friendly and our family eat there most nights. Unfortunately with a young family we did not avail of the night life in the resort so cannot comment on that aspect. The one annoying thing was that no matter were you walk within the resort there are people offering you sratch cards to win free gifts, holidays or a maximum of 1.200 euros - don't be fooled nothing for nothing in this world - some people have been gullable and have spent 4 hours at a timeshare meeting - so remember. There are two beaches both are absolutely lovely on with black sand and the other was golden sand - plenty of facilities at both beaches and places to eat - including McDonalds - the are plenty of activities as both beaches for kids including trampolines etc. We would probably visit the resort again but would stay somewhere else and somewhere nearer the beach if possible.
Have a great holiday all who are going and remember it is what you make of it.

My first visit to PDLA and somewhat disappointing... yes, all the old favourites are there, but the whole place is TIRED, RUN DOWN and looking well past it's sell-by date...there are some works being done to the veronicas area but all in all I'd say that the word that sums it up is SHABBY, litter everywhere, pavements in very poor condition.
I think that the numbers visiting are reflecting this, with NOWHERE really packed and the PRs will try and drag you into their bar or restaurant - much more pushy than , say even turkey....Quite a few "british" bars closed and that at the height of the season.....
I think this place is on the way out and needs to get it's act together asap.
