Great hotel, any rooms from 3130 to 3149, 4130 to 4149 or 5130 to 5149 are the best, if available, but just don't book it with Love Holidays as their customer service and support is non existent.

Marmaris was a much bigger resort than I had realised. Many of the restaurants wanted to rip-off tourists by offering set menus at a price which was not reflective of the actual bill - high prices for both alcoholic and soft drinks dramatically pushing up the overall bill.
Lots of bars offered entertainment late into the night but all in all the resort is too commercialised and doesn't have a particularly "turkish" feel to it.
Will visit a more traditional resort next time.

Marmaris has always been a good place to go. It was my third time there and i enjoyed it.
The entertainment is now getting a bit out-dated and boring as it is the same thing every night in every place.
I don't think i will be returning any time soon as i want to see more places around the world, but do visit marmaris once in your lifetime.
Hotels recommended are Ketenci and GoldStone.

Marmaris is very commercialised and not a place for the weak hearted. Very load with lots of bars and restaurants so none of them are busy. Food is cheap but not of a high standard. The area is very clean. I would say the clenest place i have ever been to.

The resort of Marmaris is very good, although you do tend to get hassled quite a lot from the bars and the shops on the main strip. I think the whiter you are the more they try to get you in to buy there fake gear.. however once they have seen you a few times or you start to tan they don't bother.. i've put this down to the fact that you are used to them and they can no longer rip you off. Be careful if you do go into any of the shops they will try and flog you anything and they don't put prices on any of there items... good idea not to show your bulging wallet!! If you don't get the price you want for the item, walk out, don't be forced into buying some cheap imitation no matter what they say about the quality. If your in Marmaris I highly recommend the Taj Mahal and the Chinese Restaurant next door, the food is amazing a little pricey for Marmaris, but no dearer than you would pay in the uk. it cost 2 people (60 TRY) which is roughly £12 that included a starter a beer and your main course which are nicely sized, same goes for the chinese, they are part of the same restaurant a defo must for all. There is a supermarket not too far away from the hotel called Migros you can get all your cheap drinks ect in here, which you will need to stock your fridge up with, believe me you will need to, especially if it is hot hot hot. If you go to the beaches then do not take your own drink with you, unless you hide it in your bag.. most of the beaches are owned by the bars and you are not allowed to take your own drinks ect as they want you to buy your drinks from them. If you go to the beach I recommend going to Ichmeler, you can get the free bus from the hotel which will take you to a private beach or catch the dolmus into Ichmeler, where the beach is more communal but a lot bigger and quieter. You really don't need a lot of money in Turkey especially if your on the all inclusive package. I took (500 TRY) which was £200 and that lasted me for the whole two weeks and i got conned a few times so lost money for nothing, but if your careful and just say no and walk past all the hasslers you won't need much money at all, unless you are a party goer then you may need the lolly. All round Marmaris is quite a good place and the people are really friendly (mainly because they want your money). On a Thursday it's market day and bargains galore to be had, but you will notice that a lot of what is being sold is the same as in the shops. I recommend that you don't make out that this is your first time in Marmaris as they like suckers who will part with there money, like i did. Remember everything you buy is fake and cheaply made, don't pay over the odds for anything and barter the hell out of them... p.s they love english money as well, better exchage rate for them I guess, so use that as your bartering tool. Don't worry about any mosquito's either... I didn't see one or get bitten. I took all the precautions as you do, but I really didn't need to. If you go to boots i recommend you get the soltan aftersun with insect repellent and that's all you need, unless your thinking of going into the bush, then defo take extra protection. There are plenty of excursions for you to take and you will see the Travel Agencies in abundance all trying to get you on there trips and all reasonably priced, don't let your rep talk you into an over priced excursion that you can get for less down the road. Last thing if your going in peak season ie July/August beware, it's very very hot late 30's to late 40's you can expect every day, unless there having a heat wave in which case it's in the 50's... so take plenty of sun tan lotion!!
