Great hotel, any rooms from 3130 to 3149, 4130 to 4149 or 5130 to 5149 are the best, if available, but just don't book it with Love Holidays as their customer service and support is non existent.

resort was very clean staff worked hard to maintain this.
entertainment was very poor . we visited icmeler town, plenty of bars and good entertainment only 20 min walk or 5 min taxi 10 lira or dolmus 2.5 lira.
not much beach, but had nice jetty where you can sunbathe, watersports, jet ski etc.
got to get up early to claim a sunbed those germans at it again , towel on the beds all day and nobody using them. the hotel pool had gangs of russian lads diving in the pool(this supposidly is not permitted as the water is shallow) scaring the children and being boisterous even the germans where frowning.
if your buying goods and are quoted a price, half it and work your way down for the actual price you should be paying, hotel shop pricy.

You can walk into Marmaris or Icmeler right along the water front if you like walking. The beach is not good and is dark stony sand with lots of rocks if you want to swim. The beaches in Icmeler, a mile or so along the front are far better with golden sand.
We have been going to Turkey for over twenty years and Marmaris has got bigger and bigger and has been totally spoiled.

Harbour was a 15 min stroll away, well worth going to just to see those expensive yachts!
Found the Three Palms to be good for a Cheese Omelette at lunchtime and a Beer (close to the entrance to the harbour area) and in the evening the Dede Restaurant did a very nice meal (a bit further round the harbour).
Best meals (which I went back to three times) was the Trotters Bar just up by the traffic lights (50 yds from the end of the road the Excelsior is on, turn right to the lights and it’s just across the other side of the road) - the steaks there were just stunning and then for another beer, pop next door to the Ibrox Bar (part of the same business) and the guy with the goatee beard is a nutter, but friendly, and well worth the entertainment when he meets and greets the customers…….. £7-£8 for a huge bit of steak, beer was around £2 a pint, just to give an idea.
Classiest meal I had was in the “modern” harbour area – just over the footbridge into the Netsel Shopping Centre area is the Vogue building – to the right is the Marina Brassiere – go up the stairs at the back – Starter, Main Course and a glass of the house red came to 50lr (about £25, so not really that bad, but that’s expensive for Marmaris)…..
Trips – if you get the chance, go on the Jeep Safari – awesome trip, made fun by the drivers… one of the best I’ve been on…… and although it’s probably only going to be for the last day, if you can, go on the Dalyan trip – the tombs are excellent and the trip on the boat to “Turtle Beach” is pretty unforgettable. I did this as an upgrade for the last day and it meant leaving the Excelsior one night early as I was moved to a cheap hotel in Dalyan for the night so I could go on the Toombs/Turtle Beach trip and then afterwards by staying overnight in Dalyan, I could be near to the airport in the morning (25 mins away as opposed to 90+ mins) - not cheap, but now I’ve done it, I realise it was worth every penny and the ease of getting to the airport was a huge bonus……. Arrived at the airport way ahead of the crowds and had a hassle free processing to the departure lounge…
Temperatures in the first week in May in Marmaris varied a lot - Sat when I arrived it was 27, Sunday it hit 31, Mon 27, Tues 24, then Weds & Thurs the cloud came back and it drizzled on and off, temperature was about 21 for both days. Fri was 22-23 but still cloudy but no drizzle.......

Marmaris is clean, theres a lot of developments going on to improve the place but disruption was minimal.
In Marmaris there is something for everyone. The Turkish people are very obliging and helpful. Most speak very good english.
Most of the beach is quite stoney, if you dont have a hotel with a beach front you may find yourself having to buy a drink to use a resteraunt beachfront. Although the beach is not up to much the see is fantastic. Its warm and clean, very clean.
This is the second time I have visited Marmaris, we would definately do this resort again.

We didnt venture out too far on this holiday however on a couple of occasions we took a taxi in to the marina and to a chinese restaurant which cost us between 8-12 Turkish Lira. Chinese restaurant called the Mandarin is highly recommended.
There is a bar near the hotel called Diana's which is good for some cheesy dancing etc and there are also lovely bars along the beachfront.
We avoided Bar Street as its not really our thing but would say that drinks are quite expensive in resort so stock up on your all inclusive before heading out :)
