Great hotel, any rooms from 3130 to 3149, 4130 to 4149 or 5130 to 5149 are the best, if available, but just don't book it with Love Holidays as their customer service and support is non existent.

Marmaris was lovely but very expensive! We had heard it was quite cheap but were suprised when we got there!

Marmaris is by far better than resorts in spain with lots to do and very hot. they are a little more pushy but you get used to it.

Marmaris is lovely and clean, with hard-working gardeners and street-cleaners who keep it looking so. It has a lot to offer for all different clientele, from families to couples to friends as we were...
the entertainment is a bit samey though, especially along the sea front where you can either see a drag show or breakdancers and that's pretty much it!
The bars are ok, expensive though and watch out for cocktails - sex on the beach tends to be a cheap version out of a bottle but still costing at least 7 lira (just under £5) and whatever you do, do not have frozen cocktails like I did one night as you will end up really poorly!! In fact, best to ask for no ice (even if they say it is made from spring water - better to be safe than sorry).
As others have mentioned, the staff are very very pushy and quite derogatory to girls, which is especially off-putting when, like me, you're not single as the guys tend to think you are just teasing them and carry on regardless - just ignore them if at all possible and learn some choice turkish phrases from a nice local that you can use when it gets too much :o)
Restaurants all seem to offer Steak house, Italian, Mexican and Scandinavian, although some offer Turkish specialities but you have to search around. Valentines on Long Beach seafront has a lovely owner, Burhan, who is very knowledgeable and speaks amazing English. I was ill one night and he made me a special turkish tea to make me better, and it worked!! He prides himself on using locally sourced ingredients and making nice turkish food...
Gervansaray is a brilliant turkish night and costs about 15 lira which includes 3 courses of turkish food and a night of really good traditional entertainment. The Turkish baths at Armatulan are also worthwhile as you get a massage as well as the cleaning rituals and the staff are lovely and very well-organised.
The beach at Marmaris is fine if you are happy to laze around on a sunbed but the sand is a little grainy and uncomfortable (although I am spoilt as I live by the beach in Cornwall!) and the pebbles in the sea make it difficult to get in which I guess could be a problem for those with children... It's worth getting the taxi boat to Icmelar for 7.50 lira each way as the beach is nicer and quieter (the market on a Wednesday is also worth visiting).
I think Marmaris is suited to young groups of single friends and families and it's a lovely place to walk around, not as cheap as expected but still not a rip-off. Just be on your guard as taxi drivers will try to charge you more late at night (to pocket it cash-in-hand) and some of the drinks have hardly any alcohol in, if this happens, complain to the bar and they will top it up!!
All in all I would definitely recommend Marmaris as a resort and would be happy to go there again.

Marmaris is not the best resort we have visitied.
We found that it is expensive to drink, especialy bar street,so we would definatly recomend the beach front which is a little cheaper. The best bars to visit there are The Beach Bar,Cream and Salt and Pepper.
Marmaris beach is not very nice, the beach is not very wide and the sand does not look that nice and the sea is not very clear.

This is the 8th time to Marmairs and we love the resort. We don't go to the beach much as its not too good but if you visit near by Ichmeler its a much better beach. This is the only bad hotel we've had so would try another next year. 99% of the people are great.

Marmaris is a large busy resort and that unfortunately means lots of rubbish, which in the main is well controlled, there are areas behind fences and wall that appear to be used as dumping grounds! Very few cats and dogs so no real issues with fouling.
Something for everyone.....fun pubs, theme pubs, live shows, water-sports and excursions galore, a week not enough for us!!!
Beach standard good with lots of sunbeds and shades (some free, some reserved and some affiliated to bars etc. Beach itself fine stones and grit but not unpleasant.
Would we visit again? Yes definitely. Negatives....main one is that it is VERY, VERY Britishfied, almost a Blackpool with sunshine. We wanted to experience some real Turkey but it was impossible in this area. On speaking to bar/restaurant owners it seems that they too would like to offer some real Turkey too, but the vast majority of visitors don't want it!!! Oh Well there's always car hire and sat nav!!!!
