Great hotel, any rooms from 3130 to 3149, 4130 to 4149 or 5130 to 5149 are the best, if available, but just don't book it with Love Holidays as their customer service and support is non existent.

Beaches

Marmaris is not for us. Its fine if you like bars and sunbathing but the sand is quite sharp and it was difficult to find a nice place to sit with the children and be quiet. There are bars and restaurants all along the beach so you will not be short of somewhere to eat. Beaches claim to be blue flag beaches which is probably true but it depends which part you visit as the tourists litter the sand with cigarettes and rubbish. The local people like to touch and play with children which can be a bit off putting and they don't always realise that the children don't like it and it is not our culture. I have travelled extensively and know that this is their way of life as is haggling in the markets which can be fun but you do get pestered by restaurants and shops to buy. I didn't find anything worth buying but there are lots of shops selling fake designer clothing. Its too British for me. The best sound are the mosques at prayer time which is relaxing if you listen to it while you sunbathe.
For children the facilities that we found are limited. We visited a small water park which was off the beach front but I think there is a new and bigger waterpark opening soon. Turunc and Icmeler are quieter.
Visit the castle in Marmaris for great views and you also have speedy access to visit Rhodes too.

I loved Marmaris, and will be vistng again in the next few years. There is entertainment for every age and you cannot fault the turkish people, I have never met such nice people they really cannot do enough for you.
The market was an experience, but what a laugh we had haggling with them, I was a pro haggler by the time I left.
I didnt really find the 'hassle' as people have put it to bad, a simple no thank you was enough they just smiled and said maybe another time.
We didnt really venture down to the beach, as I dont really like sand but from what I saw it was just somewhere to go and sunbathe I preferred to stay by the pool and the bar.

A very quiet resort, but situated on a busy road, with a great number of German, Dutch, and Austrian cars passing through.
It is geared to eating out, and some of the restaurants are very good. Visit the "Frog" restaurant, and order a special pizza. I won't spoil the surprise.
Some of the pubs have performers, who finish around 1130. Visit the Papillon bar, for later drinking.
There are also outdoor events and music at the little outdoor arena at the south end of town.
We were lucky enough one night to come across a very lively, impromptu concert in a back street by a local band, hundreds crammed into a side street.
The resort is clean, with it's own un-armed bobby doing the rounds in daytime, and some police at night. However, there isn't a hint of trouble.
The shops are not the usual tacky souvenir shops, but sell hi-quality goods, that you will want to buy at reasonable prices.
The beach is pebbles, with a steep drop after 10-12 feet into thick weeds, and can get busy at weekends. The sun disappears early due to the "Rocca" cliffs at each end of the town. For an easy climb, try the southern cliff, and take a torch, to explore the vast cave network at the top.
It's a good base to explore the lake, by car or the frequent and cheap ferries. Do visit Sirmione for the castle and Roman villa, and the cable car at Malcesine.
If you wish to try something special, book up for the Opera at Verona, before you go, which is held in the ancient Roman arena, seating 20,000. Magnificent!
I can't think of a more relaxed holiday, than around Lake Garda.

If you like sports bars, del boy tv and pool just about every place is like this. Hygene is poor but the toilets are surprisingly good.
The beach is a disappointment, it's ugly umbrellas which you have to pay for, the sand sadly is not golden, its blackish covered in cigarette buts, they don't clean the beach, so only spend one to two days there and watch out when you buy water, 3 lire for UK 1 lire for locals.
The trips well what can I say 5 star, they are all day and well worth the money, and if they do up the prices cross this resort off your list, Eg £4 to £6 (dependant on how good your bargaining skills are) for an all day boat cruse with food around beatiful costal islands with on shore excursion (on foot). And no matter how tight fisted you are spend some of your cash on a jeep safari, if you don't like this, then go and look a butteflies in Cornwall. This is a must for all the family. There ismething for everyone in this all day excursion.
Bar street, where all the bars and clubs are, don't go before midnight otherwise it's too early, the places are free and it is heaving, you'll love it if it's your cup of tea.
Clothes ie tops trousers less than £5 each a bargain, everything in Turkey is designer copy and excellent. They don't know the meaning of the word copywright, cd, dvd, all the latest movies £2 to £3 each. Womens posh hair do's by experts you can't pay more than £20 ie wash cut, highlights and styling.
A week in the resort of Marmaris is about enough time to do most things.

Marmaris is a great place to visit as we have done several times. There is plenty of entertainment and restaurants and the main centre is very lively although if you walk a couple of streets back from the main area, there are some lovely restaurants.

Every where you go in Marmaris there is bars , clubs, restaurants ect. I would not recommend this resort if you just want to lie on the beach all day and have a quiet night because the beach is not all that great, as it is small, shingle and really hurts your feet although it is very clean. There is loads of nightlife although most of it is clubs or really lively bars (which we loved)This was our first time to Turkey and will be going back to the Balci hotel as soon as funds will allow.

Marmaris was a hugh resort with hundreds of bars, shops and nightclubs. We found plenty of bars with entertainment in the evenings , but there wern't many that had kids entertainment.
The circus came to our area and that was a great night out.
Haci's bar in the armatalan area did a great english breakfast for only £1, best in marmaris.
We didn't go to marmaris beach, but round to Icmeler as marmaris is no good for kids to build sandcastles on, too shingly. The only drawback is the pestering from shop and bar owners for you to go in. Just be polite!!
the resort was clean, busy and good fun and i would visit again.

We found the resort to be very busy, lively but good fun. Our children are 14 to 17 so good for them.
The hassle was a bit much, you cant walk past a shop or bar without a full discusion to why you dont want to go in.
Food was very good, lots of choice, steaks being big there.

I thought that the resort was really clean and the entertainment was excellent. I loved the Karoke bars and thought all the workers in the bars were really friendly. The beach was really nice but needs some sand. I would definately visit Marmaris again.

We've been to Marmaris twice now the resort is getting alot busier.
We liked the resort but feel Icmeler is alot quieter and suits our needs more.
The shops in Marmaris are good but feel a little less hassle would be a bit better.
The beach isn't very nice and we yet again prefer icemelers beach.
