Great hotel, any rooms from 3130 to 3149, 4130 to 4149 or 5130 to 5149 are the best, if available, but just don't book it with Love Holidays as their customer service and support is non existent.

Marmaris is a beautiful place but you do need to be careful as you get so much hassle from the locals.
In the Armutalan area there really isnt much to do,you do need to do a lot of day trips or go to the harbour area for things to do and see. Be careful if you bring teenage girls, because of our bad experience we would never go back to Turkey again.

Marmaris is very clean. Turkish people are lovely.
Lots of nightlife bars and restaurants. Beach long but narrow, but who wants to walk to the beach when you can dip in the pool every 5 minutes!

Having visited Mamaris a number of times before we understood that although they told you the sun beds were free, we knew they expected you to buy from them.
We ordered a number of drinks throughout the day, but did not wish to eat lunch on the beach as were were suffering from food poisoning.
On several occassions were told do not come here tomoorow as you haven't spent enough. We ventured further down coast and found a location that said public beach, sun beds 5 lira. We thought great no hassle.
We bought some water from a local shop at 0.25lira and lay on the beach. The attendant informed us that this is not allowed and we had to buy from the kiosk( water 2milliom lira). This proved to once again be a rip off.
Each time the prices for ice lollies and water changed. they tried to get as much out of you as possible. As many other holiday makers had brought their own food and drinks we decided to ignore the attendant as it seemed as though we had been singled out. We went the following day only to be told "find another beach, and don't come back tommorrow."
We had booked a couple of boat trips. The one was a large boat and it was over booked. There was no sun lounger for the family and so we had to sit on the floor for the whole day, being trampled on by other rude holiday makers. the second trip was the best day of the holiday it was a smaller boat, the staff didn't hassle you, you could buy as and when you wanted anything.
As a family we spent £1,400 and this seemed not to be enough. We went back to Turkey as it used to be cheap, not any more. the prices have doubled the friendlyness of the people has changed. We won't be going back.
Where has the delight gone from Turkey?

Found Marmaris very busy, ideal for younger travellers, as there is plenty of night life. Can be a bit in your face somtimes but great for shopping for bargins if you like to haggle. The resturant staff drive you a bit crazy trying to get you to eat in their resturants, but we found some lovely places to eat on the beach front, try Uno Momento & Call Ahyesa they are fab!!

We thought Marmaris was a lovely place to stay and were glad that we changed from our original booking in Icmeler.
Marmaris is a much larger town and therefore has much more to offer in pubs, bars, restaurants, shops, bazaars etc. The beaches were very narrow though and crammed with sunbeds and umbrellas, very stony (no sand) and many fag butts.
This was the same with most of the beaches in this part of Turkey though, and if you're staying in Icmeler or Marmaris and want nice beaches, book the boat trips that take you out to Cleopatra Island or Turtle Bay as they both have beautiful golden sand.

Marmaris is a very lively town with plenty to do for everyone. It offers more shops than any shopoholic could dream of with a variety of goods, clothes, souvenirs, etc to buy whether fake or real. the bazaars are very welcoming with almost too much to look at although it is most important to haggle for any goods you may wish to purchase. For the sunlovers Marmaris has a long beach split up into sections with several different bars and huts owning sections of the beach. Some charge for the sunbeds at 5ytl for two sunbeds and a parasol some dont charge anything as long as you buy a drink from their cafe/bar. you are waited on by the staff on the beach and the menu has something for everyone at fairly reasonable prices. the water is warm and fairly clean with lots of little fishes in the sea. the watersports facilities are great from banana boat to pedalos to paragliding. the harbour is beautiful especially at night time when all the fairy lights are light up and the variety of different boat trips is amazing.
We didnt go to any nightclubs as such but have heard that the night life is rather wild and exciting. each and every bar has some sort of entertainment whether it is a tv for the football fans or plain turkish music or simple local entertainment. There is an array of choice as to what type of food one wishes to eat from Mcdonalds to burger king, chinese, indian, english or Turkish. We found a lovely restaurant on the harbour, in fact it is the sixth one along the harbour side. the owner greeted us with a "I say nothing, no hassle" comment which drew our attention after being hassled by every single restaurant along the way. He showed us his menu and left us alone to make our own minds up.
We decided to eat there and my daughter was offered to eat for free and he kept to his word. this man was the owner of the restaurant and has been running it for 12 years, his two brothers have opened one in Iclemner and we met three british families whilst eating there who have been coming back to his place for the past 5 years.
The food was delicious, the service impeccable and there were no service charge either. it was my son's birthday that week and we agreed to go back there for his birthday meal and the owner brought out a birthday cake for him with sparkles in it and dimmed the lights, put on the happy birthday song and every waiter in the restaurant including the chef came out clapping and singing, it was simply wonderful.
We were given free t-shirts and vest tops on leaving. we will definitely go back there again and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a quiet, peaceful, delicious meal whether it be turkish food, pasta, pizza, burgers or steaks. we were given a free drink on the house after every meal as well.
The restaurant is called Amigos Paradise. Highly recommended.

I've been to marmaris 3 times now and as everybody knows Turkey is famous for the hassling but you just have to be firm with some of them no matter how much they yell at you.
And all in all i'd say about 75-80 percent of Turks are really nice guys just trying to make a few pennies. The beach isn't the best but Icelemer is just a wee dolmus ride away and the beaches there are lovely.
Theres a lot in Marmaris, the beachfront (bars for the brits) and then theres bar street (famous for the clubs but alot of Turks, Russians and Dutch and not many Brits to talk too)the bazaar is full off about 400 shops of designer gear its just all round FANTASTIC! Theres always something going on.
