Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

The resort was very clean and well kept. The entertainment offered was in great numbers. Each night there was similar bar activites i.e. karaoke. With there being a vast number of bars to choose from price ranges were decent with each offering a happy hour. The entertainment for children although one bar offered activities each night there was very few other options. The beach itself i can make no comment not liking the beach anyway as you will see i have stayed undecided. The people make you feel welcome. They are friendly, helpful and make it worth while. The resort offered great varities of food which where all reasonably priced. All in all the resort itslef was an excellent place to be and would definitely visit again with a closer look at the accomodation.

I love Alberfeira and everything that goes with it!! - I travlled with my husband 2 children and my parents and we feel that it has everything for each age group!
We went into the Old town most days as during the day it was nice to visit the beach, go for lunch etc, and at night our children loved walking around the square watching the fabulous Puppet man, the street artists, and the Indians. We visited this year in July and it was starting to get VERY busy. Last year we went in June and it was alot quieter, and we were able to eat in almost any restaurant whenever we wanted. This was very different this year as everywhere was constantly busy - however this didnt put us off atall we just ate where-ever!!
The beach was great although getting very crowded.
I would definately visit this resort again, and after spending many years visiting Greek Islands, I have to say as a family holiday I think this resort has everything!! -
Finally - going back to children it is great that you are able to get most English baby products in the big Modelo supermarket which is a great help!!
Fab Fab Fab !!!

Only 10 minutes to town which offered lots of bars and cafes and a nice beach. Only a bus ride from the old town too which was worth a visit.
Took a trip on a jeep safari which was a great day out and a chance to see the mountains.

Albufera was a lovely resort with plenty to do, it was split into to sides, the old town and the strip. The strip is full of bars and lively restaurants, whilst the old town has all the shops and more traditional resaurants. I would reccomend the restaurants on fishermmans beach! Plenty to do for a fortnight.

Albufreira is a lovely resort, plenty of nice bars and restaurants. Bars and restaurants 2 min walk and across the main road straight opposite the hotel a further 5 min walk to the 'Strip' lively and busy and worth a stroll but good if your young and want plenty of action.
The beaches are a good 20 min walk there are two lovely beaches surrounded in huge rocks, very picturesque, there is one that is a downhill walk but is called 'heart attack hill' on the way up so beware especially in the heat.
The old town is worth a look, approx 5 euros in taxi or a pleasant 25 min walk, athough we only went during the day, it is supposed to be better at night time, plenty of nice restaurants. Recommended eateries, The Cockerel which is on the road on the way to the strip, very very british and they are proud of that also. Plenty of information regarding the food they serve, nice inside, although not our thing to eat English food whilst abroad. The breakfast is worth a try 3.50 euro including PG tea or coffee. They also have English speciality nights, homemade Steak Pie and Whale night (good old cod, chips and mushy peas all homemade they do recommend booking for these nights and we thought they all say that, but people were queuing to get in at 5.30 and they had completly sold out of fish by 8.30 so must have been good. Tex-Mex good just outside of hotel, Rumours bar good for a stop off on your way out, is like a small betting office inside, good if you like a little flutter now and again. Good Italian called D.Gancho excellent pasta, pizza and very reasonable.
On the whole would definately return to Albufeira, worth a visit,
