Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

beaches yes three beaches just gorgeous great for kids becareful of the tide quite strong pulls you out and very cold this time of the year. plenty of bars, resturants and shows but the usual holiday resort gift shops. cheaper if you the get the bus and go to the old town we saved 6 euros on a football shirt for the grandson.

first time in portugal,we stayed on the strip not really my cup of tea,to many all male partys just getting drunk,When i go back i would definitly stay in the old town.much more to see and walk round,but overall a good holiday.

Resort Clenliness : Good even though a lot of building work going on mainly to roads and footpaths.
Resort Entertainment: Excellent take time to decide what you want to listen to all tastes catered for.Most restaurants had a resident singer.
Beach Standard: Excellent best beach in Algarve you can walk for miles.
Yes but keep to the early or late parts of year as its cooler and it looks like it gets very busy in mid summer.

again everything to the left is what you make of it.. bit steep going to the beaches below the hotel but apart from that excellent!!

The resort itself is quite nice, however the dog dirt is everywhere and dogs are running around constantly (I counted in one morning 23 different dogs running freely). One bar owner told me that they are strays that the authorities dont bother rounding up henceforth the amount of them. There is plenty of restaurants and bars for everyone,s taste and the prices are quite reasonable. The beach is o.k (if you watch out for the dog dirt) but there is an outlet which runs into the sea and I did,nt know what fluid was coming from it. One last thing, I was going back to the hotel around 8.30pm and I was robbed at knifepoint by three men who took an Ipod A gold chain and around ninety pounds in cash so be on your guard and stick to the more populated streets and try not to go alone as I did. The local police found my predicament quite amusing as did their inability to suddenly remember they could,nt speak english seem to entertain them. As I booked my holiday online I had no rep to fall back on and as I mentioned no help from the policia municipal for a record of the crime to claim on my holiday insurance. I was told it was very rare that tourists were robbed and certainly not at knifepoint however, wrong place, wrong time I suppose. So what was meant to be a cheap week away was in the end a very expensive and traumatic experience which will ensure my absence from the algarve as a holiday destination. Remember, stick to the main streets!!!.

Albufeira is a nice clean resort with the exception of "The Strip" which makes Blackpool look glamorous.The two good things about"The Strip" are you get the best exchange rates there and the best deals on tobbaco and drinks in the shops.There are plenty of clubs and bars on "The Strip"if you like that kind of thing but its not for me.The beaches in this area are probably some of the best,wide,sandy and clean.This was our third time in Albufeira and I will more than likely go again.

Clean I've put 4 but then again I dont recall seeing any litter around.
The entertainment is vast, so many bars/clubs for all ages.
The Algarve does have the best beaches some which are sheltered in a cove.

the local councilcleaners continually brushing streets and gardens,but we found pavements very uneven and slippy.beaches as all over the algarve excellent,plenty of entertainment,on montechoro strip and bars in albufeira.
