Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

albufeira is extremely built up with some developments 3 miles inland from beach. in places it is extremely noisy with many pubs bars etc, very little of old town remains. tourist information office does not open over weekends!!

The old town is a fairly lively resort, that has a square surrounded by restaurants and bars. Lovely restaurants on the front over-looking the beach. lots of places to drink in bar street, but quite noisy in this part of the town. Do NOT get taken in by the scratch card people! We did not go tothe strip as were quite happy in the old town. The beach is fab - clean and with a good surf. Food more expensive than we anticipated (ÂŁ30-ÂŁ40 per couple for two courses with wine), would probably go for half-board in the hotel and then just go to the town for a drink. Would definately go back to this resort.

Olhos D'Agua is a fantastic place to visit if you want a quite relaxing holiday to re-charge your batteries. The beach is lovely & clean with plenty of sunbeds & sunshades. There are a good number of restaraunts all serving delicious food. All in all a fantastic choice of resort & somewhere to re-visit again and again.

The resort was clean and tidy at all times, from the Santa Eulalia apartments the strip is about a 10-15 min walk, very lively.
Turn left at the hotel and the Santa Eulalia beach was great. Also about 10 min walk but not as steep a hill as we expected after reading other reviews.
Plenty of things to see and do and a trip to the old town is also advisable.

We'd recommend Slide and Splash for a fun day out, but go on as much as you can early on as the queues later can be huge.
Also definitely recommend Zoo Marine. A great day out but the highlight must be the dolphin show. Absolutely terrific. Get there early before the show is due to start so you get a good seat and a clown entertains the crowd while you wait.

The resort is very clean and tidy.
The strip is very entertaining in itself you can have a drink outside and people watch there are plenty of bars and restaurants.
The beaches are lovely and clean and safe felt that the sun beds were a little on the dear side the resort is a great place to visit just make sure you do your homework for the accommodation you will stay in.

We stayed in the old town Albufeira, and it was very good especially enjoyed the entertainment that was on in the square. Also the bars were very busy in the old town and I think would rival the strip for the young people.
As for us as a family they where to busy late at night. But you could go in some places after 12 and was also nice to have a drink outside. Beaches very nice and clean.

Having visited The Algarve twice before i knew what to expect and was not dissapointed. The Portuguese are very friendly and polite (the ones i met anyway) and their children are very good too! The beaches are excellent as is the food, fish a speciality and gorgeous. Try the Cataplana - out of this world. Albufiera is a bit too comercialised for me now, especially The Strip, which just about has everything for all ages but there is just too much noise going on all over the place & it's only a small road (albeit long)! I would visit Portugal again in the future but not here.

The town was very clean and standard of public toilets was ok. the strip was full of bars and entertainment, lots of karaoke, musicians etc, as was old town which had lots of more atmosphere. The beaches were very clean, but because of the perpetual wind water sports were limited at times.
We wouldn't visit this resort again, it was far to built up for our liking. You could have been anywhere.
