Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

Off the track , not like the strip.
Lots of lovely places to eat ,approx five to twenty mins away. Supermarkets nearby. Bus service out side hotel, did not use it as taxis are cheap.
Walk to the beach approx thirty mins ,but thats a rambling pace, but worth it when you get there.
Lovely beach bar selling the usual.
In all a wonderful place.

If I go again then I would stay near old town as this was better for me, strip ok but spent more time in old town.
We used to walk to old town about 1/2 hour away you can get there via beach or coast road or train only three euros allday till 3 am.
Good restaurants & bars in old town & strip.
As soon as you arrive pick up a free map which will help you get around most bars have them.
Beware of scratch card people as it's a time share racket just say no.
Have a good time, we did.

We love Albufiera .
It is very clean and tidy and remains a safe place to visit.
Although we stay in the Montechoro area we travel into old town most nights.

The complex and appartment was very clean but the bathroom had a sewer smell all the time even though the bathroom was clean. The location is too far from old town and even further from strip. You need to use hotel bus or taxis to get to these places. Don't think I would stay here again.

We had our two children with us and what worried me was the narrow paths and the amount of traffic near the strip. I wonder did any one else have the same problem as me.
Restaurants had usual meals on offer, we ended up eating in a lot due to a great butcher counter in local supermarket.
Never got to beach due to high winds and our week was all too short would like to go back next year.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay in Clube 99 and Montechoro and would recommend both.

Albufeira is a nice resort, with a long strip of bars and restaurants.
The two main beaches Oura and Fishermens (in the old town) were both very nice. I preferred Fishermens as there is a wider choice of restaurants for lunch within short walking distance. Sun beds are expensive at the beach; we bought an umbrella for 6 euros. Watch out for the tide it caught us out one day, position yourselves wisely.
I noticed that there were very few functioning public telephones on the strip, and the ones I did see were always very busy of an evening.
We got asked whether we wanted drugs on numerous occasions which we were aware of beforehand but became very frustrating.
There is a huge choice of excursions on offer, I would recommend the Zoomarine, the dolphin show is fantastic.

the pavements are generally of cobbled stones. i noticed that some areas were in need of much repair. the street cleaners were active from an early hour; they needed to be. the areas around the bars had a lot of broken glass on the pavement and street from the late night revellers. the beaches were very clean. it paid to visit albufeira old town which was a delight, specially in the evening.

Been to albufeira many times and have enjoyed every visit. Love the beaches and the walks. Something for every age here and I thoroughly reccommend it.
