Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

Always seems to be clean, whether in the day or night.
Plenty to see and do - usually best to book excursions in one of the many outlets scattered around the resort - hotels tend to charge top prices.
Beaches are beautiful, golden sand and always plenty of sunloungers and shades for hire (although you can buy your own parasols and sunbeds if you've got a car to transport them round in - or just use the courtesy bus/taxi)
Whether you want a lively holiday or a quiet getaway, this is the place for you - both options are available!

The resort is kept very clean although there is a little graffiti sprayed onto the walls which is the biggest let down otherwise very tidy.
The resort entertainment is brillient there is somthing for everyone whether you are 4 or 84 years old
The beach is very clean and has lifeguards on duty, there is a flag system that operates similar to the traffic light system here - Green Flag = Safe to swim
Yellow Flag = OK to swim but take
extra care
Red Flag = Dont enter the water not
safe to swim

Albiufera is a lovely resort. Very quaint (the old town) and a fab beach. Plenty of small bars with a variety of entertainment. People very friendly and a good choice of food.

We had transport from our appartments to the beach daily. But walked once, which was a nightmare as the roads are so busy, and no pavements. Also lots of building sites.
But the beach was well worth the visit and it's so clean.
Also there is a nice little beach bar there.
On an evening we went to eat in one of the many bars.
And enjoyed many good reasonable priced meals.
Put eight pounds on while on holiday.

Although there was no entertainment at these apartments you wont be short of things to do On the Strip.
The beach is fabulous but beware the sea is very cold.
You'll soon warm up because the weather is gorgeous

Pria da Oura has the strip of bars and restaurants for when you want that sort of thing. While being lights and music it still had a certain charm. My kids enjoyed it very much and wanted to go there all the time. That said we were not there after midnight, so not sure how hectic it gets.
Beaches are great. Yes the Oura beach is down a fare slope, that's what you get when the beaches are backed with big sandstone cliffs. I am a fat forty something, and didn't find it a problem taken at a reasonable pace, (it only takes 5 mintutes tops to walk up).
Aveiros beach is harder to get to, and a bit further away. Its small , but tends to be a bit less busy, there is a snack bar right on the beach an d the cliff top walk is worth doing. Again it is only 5 minutes over to the start of the town beach which a beautiful long beachfrom there are the rocks are well worth seeing.
Albufeira square is pretty much complete, (there has been a lot of work there). Eating on the square is quite expensive. Best meal we had on the whole holiday was at a little restaurant 20 yards of the square up a lane at the side of Sir Harry's bar. Can't remember the name, but it was a cross from a sign saying Ludon's Bar. Excellent food and service, and it was the cheapest meal all fortnight.

As we have prevouisly stated we have visited the Algarve on 6 occasions staying in different areas we however prefer the Oura / St Eulalia area of Albufeira for it's variety of good bars and restuarants, although you are within easy walking distance to the Strip if you prefer more livelier venues.
Beaches - The one at the bottom of the CPO is very nice but a little congested sometimes, the sea is very shingly and has lots of rocks, but still a great day out. You have your usual pedalos, para gliding etc at reasonable prices, there are also beach restuarants which are OK for snacks, toilets etc.
Sta Eulalia this is quite a small beach, so it can again be quite busy but it is worth fighting for a space.
Both beaches were absolutely spotless clean and lifeguards on duty all the time. The waves can catch you off guard and through you around a bit, all adds to the excitment.
Resort Entertainment - You definately for a real laugh should go the the Ancorra on a Monday evening and see the New Ricky Martin, but make sure you cover young & teenage boys eyes as he has a dancer????
Ancoora Bar - this has entertainment on every evening and we saw some good acts here also.
Other good bars which we would go back to are:
Oura Bar - beneath the Oura Praia Hotel going towards the CPO was a good beginning and end of your evening, very friendly staff and snacks were excellent.
Coyote Bar - heading down towards the Sta Eulalia beach, this again is a good snack bar, clean and spacious, varied entertainment and food alright.
Rock Line Cafe - corner of Oura Praia Hotel. This was OK on the first / second / third visits, however, not only does the Karaoke presenter sing the same songs nightly but so do her Portugese friends (who attend the bar every evening). The bar staff however do make up for this and are very friendly.
Legends - Montechoro Strip, this was definately not worth the walk to the top / bottom of the strip (never can tell which end is which.
Paulu's - Brilliant pizza / pasta restaurant right beside the Oura Praia hotel one of the best.
Royal Chinese - on the roundabout just at the Rock Line Cafe - Great chinese food, excellent service. Good Price
Happy House Chinese - across from Oura Praia - again can't fault the food or the service, we also had a take away from here it was great.
Netto - beneath the Oura Praia Hotel - excellent family run restuarant, always business, good service, food lovely.
Magnello - on the way to strip by CPO - we ate in this restaurant 4 times during our 14 night stay - do we need to say more.

Lovely resort with gorgeous beaches. Very family friendly especially the old town area with great restaurants all around the square. Very popular with locals especially at the weekends.

The resort was busy but it was high season so that is to be expected but it was clean. The strip itself is noisy but that too is to be expected in high season. The road leading to the beach is very steep so going down is fine but coming back up is hard going. The beach is beautiful and very clean.Beware the timeshare people they pretend to be working for thomson's to try and trick you we found ignoring them worked so don't be fooled.
