Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

The strip does get very busy on Fridays and Saturdays, lots of different restaurants to try, try Donaldo's at bottom end of strip, also the chineese at the bottom it is took back a bit.

PRAIA OURA AREA???
Albuferia it was!
The resort was clean, the mont strip wasnt great! A bit to loud and busy for my liking, but if out clubbing then great.
Fortuatly, Albuferia old town is about 3.50 in a taxi, and beautiful.
The beach is down the biggest hill! Cardiac hill its known as!!! great going down! Bad coming home!
We have been to various places in the algarve, and this wouldnt be my first choice, however it wasnt dreadful and I would return if the price was right!

The rosert was brilliant! Are you the party type? Go to the New Town/The Strip! If you like the little things on the stalls, go to the Old Town. The resort is great for all ages.
The beach was also lovely and suitable to swim in.

We stayed in Albufeira which was absolutely fantastic. There were lots of good clean delicious restaurants. The strip was hustle n bustle with shops and a lot of English bars down there which were open till 2am ish. The beach was clean and there were a lot of activities to be done down there. You could practically go into any shop and book daytrips, of which we would recommend the jeep safari! It was excellent and you get to see how the Portuguese live and get to sample there food and drink. We have all said that we would like to retire to here.

The strip was lively with entertainment to suit everyone and a large choice of reasonably priced meals.
Taxis were reliable,cheap and easy to get.
The beach was clean and tidy,although the constant pestering of goods sellers was tiresome towards the end of the week.
We will certainly be going back.

I would thorougly recommend staying at these villas. We have stayed in numerous countries and the Rufino Villas were one of the best. I would recommed hiring a car as there are so many beautiful local attractions to see. The villas are superb, we thought there must have been a mistake as they were so fabulous. A must holiday!

Albufeiras strip is lovely, apart from the poor children forced to sit and beg on the street from morning to night! Plenty of bars and places to eat.
Entertainment in coconuts was very good for the children! Also when you just fancy something from back home, the old english chippy at the beach end of the strip do fantastic fish n chips!
Beach was ok, though you do get mithered from the lucky lucky men trying to sell you something every few minutes!

Gale,Resort on the whole clean but seems to be suffering at the hands of graffiti artists around shops etc. Beaches are beautiful with lovely restraunts particularly Sao Rafael and Gale. The View Bar and Curry Club are excellent,owned by a British couple, excellent food, reasonably priced. Algarve Shopping centre just 10 min drive, excellent shopping, huge Zara! lovely food court,Mcdonalds, pasta,pizza hut etc, outdoor area, small play area and new crazy golf, also bowling(take socks), most speak English and the supermarket bettet value than buying food and beer locally.

The strip is the livliest place in Albufiera, great for couples and singles. Families and older people may not like it so much as it may get a little overbearing in the summer. Entertainment on the strip is fine if you like rock music and party music.Old town is currently undergoing a lot of construction work around the square so not so attractive at the moment. The beach is great at praia de oura as all the water sports are there but if you want quiet then walk to a more tranquil beach. Remember though it's only as good as you make it!
