Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

What a beautiful resort. The Old Town was our favourite place, but the Strip also had it's good points - as pointed out by our 14 yr old son! We were staying near the Strip and there are bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Our favourites being, The Clay Oven, O Ramos and The Golden Garden. The little 'Train' was an excellent way for getting round the resort - 3 euros each for an all day ticket, to get on and off as often as you wanted.

Albufeira is a resort that caters for everyone it has numerous beaches hundreds of bars and restaurants and a wide range of excursions available. We had agreat day at aqua marine booked with our rep.I would advise you to take a packed lunch as the food wasnt too good.Whilst out and about dont be fooled by the touts giving out scratch cards as every one is a winner and they just want to waste 2 hours of your time trying to sell you a time share. By the end of your first day you will have been approached about 15 times they really are a pain in the a*!e. Next year i am going back 2 times once with my family for a week then 3 weeks later 33 girls are going for 5 days on a hen party.

Our favourite part of the holiday was obviously going to the beach every day, apart from a couple of days when we stayed at the hotel. Our favourite beach was the one at the bottom of "cardiac hill" and we would often still be found there at 7.00pm most evenings!! The "wally trolley" was very good to get around and we would buy a day ticket on most days and we could use the train then all day up until 3.00am. The supermarkets are everywhere and you can buy just about anything you wanted. The water although cold was very welcoming after being cooked on the beach so no complaints from us and we would definitely be going back again...

Lovely resort was being refurbished when we went, but was nice before they started, so we will have to see the improvements next year. It will all be finished then.

Fab for families my kids really enjoyed and taxis are very cheap so we visited the old town lots as there is always something going on in the square

Praia da Oura is a very busy modern resort with a huge choice of bars, restaurants, shops etc . The beach is beautiful but is at the bottom of a very steep hill . The climb back in 30' plus heat can be off putting !!!

Pity about the building site we had to walk through every day to get to beach.Could have got a taxi I suppose, but couldn't have got very near, streets very narrow. Not seen any drunken groups of young adults so ok for families.Lots of touts and staff trying to entice you to eat at their restaurants.Lots of touts on beach too. Went to zoomarine for the day.ok for kids.would not return to resort.
