Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

Resort very livley, but also good for families unlike places such as kavos and hardly any trouble at all.
Only slight problem I could find was the steep hill to the beach, fine for our group but probly not managable for everyone.

Although the beach was a good walk away and access was down a steep hill the view is great. Acoteias is only small but has plenty of bars, restaurants and shops for gifts.
The bus service to Albefuira is regular except for sundays when it is a bit sparce.

For a highly built up area Albufeira is remarkably clean. There doesn't appear to be too much litter or dog mess around. However, the bins do smell and the sewers do pong alittle. Albufeira is hardly a hotbed of culture and art. In the new town there are dozens of tacky gift shops and loud bars. The Old Town is similar just abit more quiet with a dash of character. If you like to disco the night away then great. But, if you are looking for high art and theatre then you may (will) be disappointed. Food in Albufeira is varied and I would say good. It is advisable to steer away from the main 'strip' in search of some wonderful little places too eat. The beaches are obviously the main attraction and they are just fantastic.

Albufeira is a really lovely place. The old town is beautiful and has great restaurants and Fisherman's Beach is lovely. We spent quite a lot of our days and early evenings in the old town and went to a great Salsa bar/club there. The locals are so friendly. We spent our later evenings at the Strip in Albufeira new town. Its really clean and surprisingly not too tacky.
We loved it and will definitely be going back.

We have been to this resort three times now and would have no hesitation going back. The main strip has everything you need and there are a number of bars that are great for kids. Although we went during the Euro football we didn't encounter any trouble.

Albufeira was superb, lots of things to see and do, great pubs and eateries and really friendly service, beach was superb(old town). Seafood is wonderful especially the bbq'd sardines. Theres something for everyone in Albufeira whether young, old, active or sun worshipper.

The resort was marvellous. It was really clean and the strip had everything you could want. What with the Supermarket, tobacconist, off licence, souvenir shops and the different bars and cafes, which catered for a variety of tastes, you just couldn’t go wrong.
There was a beautiful stretch of beach just a short walk away from the complex and if you wanted to see more of the old village of Albufeira and didn’t want to do a lot of walking then you could always jump on the little train which stopped on the strip every half hour and could either stay on this for the round trip or get off at one of the stops for a stroll around the village before getting a later train back home.
We went on several trips around the resort including “Best of the Algarve, Zoo Marine, Zoo Safari, the Catamaran and the. (I hope I spelt that right). These were all very good but we can strongly recommend the Guardiana River Cruise. It was the best trip we have ever taken and the staff at the hotel where we stopped for our lunch and a singsong were absolutely fantastic and so was the meal that was provided. In fact we found the Portuguese people to be some of the most friendly and helpful people we have ever met on any of our travels and we would not hesitate to recommend this resort to any of our friends and family in the future.

The resort is lively but not in a San Antonio/Magaluf/Playa de Los American way. It is suitable for everyone but in particular, is fine for middle aged people with plenty of good clubs for younger people

Not much else in the way of restaurants within walking distance. Didn't stay in for entertainment. Get a cab to Everista restaurant - an absolute gem.
Would go back just for the beach, but too far to restaurants. We visited Carveiro with friends who have a villa and that is very pretty. Lots to do there.
