Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

Plenty to do particularly if you enjoy walking. Usual holiday type of shops and bars. Some really good places to eat out as well. A fantastic holiday!

The resort was extremley lively and vibrant at night. The resort was very tourist like so as you can imagine was not great for cleanliness however it was not dirty. There was plently to do in and around the resort and the water park especially was great fun.
I would go to this resort again however possibly not with a young child, somewhere else in the Algarve possibly quieter would be better

Resort was clean enough.
Entertainment was plentiful and varied - lots of different restaurants for different tastes - steak houses, Chinese, fish, pizzas and even an Australian restaurant that was lovely.
People lovely and friendly.
Beach was clean but you would need to take aqua shoes with you for going in beach as its very pebbly and hurts your feet.
Can go chilly in evenings so would recommend you take a cardy at least.
We will be returning to Albufiera again

Had we not already booked this years holiday, we would have gone back to Portugal they are far more friendly than the spanish. Even when you go into the shops and dont buy anything they still seem to enjoy talking to us. Plenty to do lots to see. Highly recommended

Albufeira is great for all the family. It has enough bars, restaurants and cafes that everyone in the family will be able to enjoy.
The beaches are great and have lots of little coves which are great for the more adventurous in the family. Kids love tramping over rocks and cliffs, but you need to be careful some of the cliffs are a shear drop into the sea!
One of the best beaches (we think) is near Albufeira in Gale. It is clean and unspoilt, although anytime we have been there the water is absolutely freezing.
There are plenty of waterparks and animal parks for everyone. There is also Go Karting not to far from the resort which is great for a day out
Entertainment in the Strip is a bit noisy, it depends on your age group and what you like. It's OK for a night or two. The Old town is more traditional and has a more family feel to it. Lots of bars and resturants around the square.
On a Saturday & Sunday afternoon you usually find street preformers which are great to watch lazing away the day.

We enjoyed the hotel but we were not impressed with the new town which is just a range of pubs/bars and gift shops and although the old town was pretty but we were put off by being constantly chased by holiday club sellers trying to get us to rub off stratch cards who wouldn't take no an answer. Its a shame that it can't be policed in the same manner as Vilamoura who have no such problems.
