Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

The resort was very clean it has a very good supermarket and all the shops are very helpful. the old town has a vast number of bars to everyones taste and the food in the restaurants here are superb. the strip in the new town is plentiful of restaurants, bars, discos to dance the night away, the beach is lovely & clean & is ideal for the kids. but i must mention to get down to the beach you have to quiet a lot of steps, but stick the road it winds down to the beach anyway

Both Albefuira and Montechoro were fantastic. There was every possible bar and resteraunt you could imagine all within walking distance. Beaches were clean, and ideal for families, as children were always made to feel welcome!

The locals in Albufeira do seem to give keeping their shop fronts, bars and restaurants as clean as possible a high priority on their lists of importance and I was once told by a shop keeper that I couldn't enter her shop until her freshly mopped front had dried. Found the beach to be very clean and did see people with rakes cleaning up seaweed and rubbish a couple of times. Cannot really give an honest rating on resort entainment at this time of year because we stayed in the hotel every night of our stay.

The resort of Praia D'oura was really nice. A bit quiet but that suited us with kids. The beach was lovely and clean and there are a couple of really nice restaurants on the sea front. The Italian restaurant around the corner from the hotel is lovely and not too dear.
We thought the strip was rubbish - really tacky and just full of over priced burger bars. Maybe it was the wrong time of year but we only ate there once and we wouldn't have missed it if it wasn't there. The other restaurants in the area are much better value for money.
Generally we enjoyed going into the old town of Albufiera much more. The fishermans beach is a lovely location with really nice cafes and bars along the front and there are loads located around the square.
On the whole though we had a nice holiday but I have been to places that are nicer.

There was plenty of entertainment available on the strip. The streets were cleaned regularly, but one had to watch out for dog dirt. The beaches are wonderful. They must rate among the best in Europe.Food and drinks were reasonably priced and the service in restaurants and cafes was efficient and polite.
There is a huge amount of building going on and only the old town of Albufeira has retained some character.

The resort was exceptionally clean with beautiful beaches and scenery. A good range of entertainment within the resort which included bars, restaurants etc though not all are open in February. I would definately viat this resort again.

The resort itself was lovely and clean even the pavements were washed daily(we could learn a thing or two).
The beaches were immaculate and as ever the atlantic ocean gorgeous, and very cold.
I would most definately visit again.

Wouldnt stay in Albuferia again, not really anything going on, especially in winter time .
A bit of a ghost town at times, not many decent hotels either, alot of self catering so it probably suits families more. The eating out is good especially a restaurant called Diebles in the centre of Albuferia, divine place to eat especially the chicken peri peri, a little pricey but great value!!!

Resort was clean - entertainment was really good, especially the parrot show - mind you I am a parrot fanatic! The beach was nice and clean - although the hire of sunbeds was quite expensive. I would visit the resort again

We stayed in Albufeira at the end of the season, and a lot of places were closing. It was fairly quiet despite being our half term, but we had a great holiday and would return there. Not a place to visit if you don't like walking and there's lots of hills to climb - felt like we'd run a marathon each day.
