Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

Have stayed in the resort several times in the past and visited it when we have stayed in other resorts in the Algarve. It is not for people who have trouble walking though because it is very hilly but you will be very fit at the end of a week!!

We really like Albufeira. We were on winter break so alot of the shops and restaurants were still closed for the winter. They have a new escalator to get down to the Old Town now is great. The beaches are very clean and well kept. The restaurants are very good especially the small portuguese ones in the back streets. There is an easy laid back feel to Albufeira which we love.

The resort itself is quite nice especially the old town. The strip is more for younger people.

Didnt see much of it but what we did see was pretty good. Would reccomend the wally trolley (road train for normal people) to get around as it was cheapo and easy to catch.

local authority staff were seen often road sweeping, pavement cleaning ,emptying bins etc, etc. the beaches are very clean and safe with lifeguards in attendance

We were about five minutes walk from the strip. It's really clean and there are always police officers walking about so you feel really safe. The restaurants are lovely and they all have specials on which are all reasonably priced. The bars have long happy hours where large beers are only two euros and the cocktails are cheap too. There's a great bar at the end of the strip called Wild&Co and they have live music most nights which is great. Most of the restaurants have a huge fish menu as well as everything else you would expect.
The beach is spotlessly clean and there are a lot of nice restaurants around there too.
We went to the Old Town a couple of times and it's lovely. It's obviously not as lively as the stip but it's nice for a wee change. There are lovely restaurants and some great bars there. There's a toy train that circles Albufeira every 20 minutes. It can get quite busy at peak times though!
