Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

As you walk down the strip you will get hastled to eat in reteraunts as you do everywhere but when you are sat having a meal or drink you get constantly pestered by people trying to sell everything from sun glasses to swim suits and as the sun sets the beggers hit the street sitting outside the resteraunts asking for money

The resort is excellent, with entertainment both on the strip & in the old old town. It's not not like Benidorm but can be as lively as you like to as relaxing as you want. The balance is great & coupled to an excellent hotel well that's all you could wish for. Beware of the slippy cobbled streets (wear flat shoes) particularly on the inclines. Use the Noddy tram to get about...3 euros all day, can't go wrong and it runs until 3 in the morning if you can last the pace. Bull fights at the Bullring just of the strip if your into that sort of thing. Personally not for me. On the strip you've got The “Scots Rock Bar” which had moved to a bigger location just off the strip but have since moved back to the same location on the strip. It is a very friendly pub that do a Full English & Scottish breakfast. The “Diamond Sports Bar” which show live sports on 4 large screens and various TV’s. On a Saturday visit they had 3 Premiership games, rugby union & soccer Saturday results & scores wit Jeff Steeling (home from home) what more could you want.

Resort was nice very livley for the younger crowd, preferred the old town, roads very busy and pathways cobbled and dangerous to walk on a long walk down a steep bank to the beech.

Albufeira is lovely and has something for everyone. We stayed near the strip which is very busy. There is a tourist train into the old town every 20 minutes. The main square has entertainment in the evenings. Everywhere in the resort is clean. There is such a wide choice of restaurants. A great resort that we will visit again.

very disappointed with the area, nothing for kids to do on an evening, the strip is nothing special unless you want to eat and drink constantly in small bars which show sport. old town was much better but still just alot of restaurants and sports bars,no entertainment for kids

resort was lovely and the hotel was fantastically located inbetween the strip and the old town.
The strip was a 15 minute walk away was a bit like Ibiza uncovered and although we are only 27 was a bit too lively for us.. plenty to do though
The old town was a 15 minute walk in the other direction down hill... ladies do NOT wear heels on this holiday! gthe floors are all really slippy stones, i make the mistake of wearing kitten heels on my first night, never again, nearly broke my neck! flip flops all the way!
the old town was lovely, bars and resurants were lovely, food everywhere were fantastic!

i think that the resort was not very clean and on the nights when the concert was on it got a bit hectic. the strip is not the place for families to take young children on a night. the beach is a five minute walk away and is good fun and very clean. sunbeds were slightly overpriced. spent most evenings in the old town with far better selection of restaraunts. couple of nice bars rock cafe bar and the dutch bar next to it both had very nice staff. mary-anns bar good for english sport.
