Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Brilliant hotel located very close to the square, where you will find a large number of restaurants and bars.

This was our 2nd visit to Albufeira - we were there last year - but this time we stayed in a far busier area. This was fine, as we were close to the Strip and all the bars/restaurants/shops etc. of which there are plenty. For 2 euros, you can take a short train ride into the old town, and this is well worth visiting at night as it is alive with entertainment.

resort was very clean & good entertainment went on in the square at the old town--it was only 5 euros in taxi to the strip which appeared to be more suitable for younger people.bech was very nice but very very busy--sunbeds was a bit pricey-10 euros for 2.would visit resort again but in other accomodation

Yes I would go back to this resort - just not to the apartments. There are 3 beaches all close by and they are all lovely and clean. There are loads of restaurants and pubs along the strip which makes the night time more interesting - but they are fairly expensive.

The resort itself was good for people of all ages. Lots of entertainment on the strip and some good quality restaurants and bars. The beaches were lovely and clean with plenty of cafes around!
I would reccommend taking a taxi into the old town ( 5 euros) we did this the last two nights, i wish we had descovered it earlier in the week, the atmosphere is fantastic, the street entertainers were great, and there were lots of little market stalls which we enjoyed browsing round.
In all we had a great holiday, we would definatley return to Albufeira but i would be inclined to say that we would probably stay elsewhere!

Albufeira is a really beautiful place to spend a relaxing holiday. The setting in the old town has lots of character with old winding streets and lovely local restaurants. Dont expect to find any fast food places. The main square in the old town is lively and has lots to see and do even in the early hours of the morning. A safe place with no trouble but you will see the occasional child beggar. Lots of stalls with different local crafts and produce to buy. Be wary of the pedestrian crossings as the only cars that stop are the British drivers. We suggest to obtain a freemap from any of the shops in the town. It was very helpful in locating different resturants and bars and has an honest review of them too. Overall we were very impressed and would definitely go back to Albufeira again.

The resort was very clean which i noticed straight away. The entertainment was good you could choose what type of pub you went into depending on age and music. The beach was good but the only draw back was the price of the sun lounges and walking down cardiac hill to get there advisable to get a taxi which is only 5 euros good value for money. I would go back tomorrow if i could.

Plent of places to eat and drink but not a lot of entertaiment to keep the kids occupied. Erin's Isle Irish bar at the top of the strip had about the best entertainment for the family, a kids room showing cartoons, drawing and face painting, and singers Karaoke etc throughout the week. between 10-14 euros dependent on which beach you went, to hire to sunbeds and parasol for the day.

We found the resort ideal for the British holidaymaker with english spoken in every shop and restaurant. Quiet, ideally suited to families with older children. There is a lot of building work going on but it doesn't impede on your holiday.Restaurants are reasonably priced but the food lacks quality.Plenty of supermarkets and a couple of well known fast-food outlets.
