Don't pay extra for a sea view as most rooms have a sea view or over-look the quiet pool. Restaurants/drinks in and around square expensive but there are a few bars and restaurants near the hotel circa half the price. Best, The Bagatelle.150m from hotel is the best. On the flat?

Good location but self catering is the way to go and there is a supermarket close by.

Upper floors of blocks 3, 4, or 5 seem to be the best located for views away from the main block 2 where rather reception, restaurants, bars and entertainment is held. We were on the 4th floor and were very satisfied apart from not being aware of the lack of hob and oven.
Boardwalks have been built by the hotels of the area giving easy access to the beach and beach side kiosks and restaurants. The best beach restaurant we found was Os Salgados, a seafood restaurant.
One at the other end of the beach was far less agreeable with ambience, food and service. Walking beyond Os Salgados on boardwalks are views of a river/ lagoon where you can see fish, water birds and terrapins. Not too far from Albufeira for more restaurants and shops.

Lovely resort,central to the old town and new. Lots of shops, bars, and restaurants. Old town beach better than new and still has water sports.Entertainment brilliant, the reps worked really hard all the time. Beach nice but not the best ive seen, but everything you need there. Would deffinatly visit the resort again.

This resort was great. It was our first time here and the place is lovely.
We ate in some lovely places one being Louisiana in old town down by the front and another being the Chinese restaurant in new town(sorry can't remeber what it is called but it is on the main strip).
We also visited the zoomarine for the afternnon, if you go don't forget to take your swim wear as they have a big pool there. This was a great afternoon and also great for kids.
Go and see for yourself I'm sure you will love it as much as we did.

The resort is one of the best I have been to, the Montechoro Strip is buzzing at night and through the day lots of shops bars and restaurants. The beaches are fantastic but by far the best is Fishermans beach in Albufeira town along with the the shops and the open square encircled with shops and restaurants. I love it every time I go, I can't wait for my next holiday there.

We did not see any rubbish anywhere the street and beach were very very clean, there were bars for every person young,familys,older which ever you are into.

Resort in "old town" Albufeira. Lots of restaurents and bars. Not too much for children in old town but taxi and bus service good.
I would highly recommend a visit to the Koala Beach restaurent, Fantastic food and good service although a little way out from old town. cost 3 1/2 euros in taxi.

The beach at the old town is a lovely long beach, very clean with toilet facilties and a good choice of restaurants

The resort of Albufeira is a lovely and contrasting place to visit, with it's beautiful beaches and rock formations.
The Strip, with it's countless bars and discos, and the Old Town with it's tiny cobbled streets, and musicians playing in the Square.

The hotel was only 10/15 mins walk from the old town which hosts a mixture of restaurants, bars and shops (mainly aimed at tourists) scattered throughout its narrow streets.
There are plenty of eating and drinking places to choose from and it this time of year (May) it wasn't too busy.
The new town with the 'Strip' was roughly 30-40 mins walk from the hotel - the good thing is a tourist train stops just at the bus stop (as you go out of the hotel and turn right)outside the hotel and this can take you to the old or new town for a reasonable price approx 3 euros per person for a day ticket.
Again in May the strip wasn't very busy at all. No matter which place you go there are plenty of ticket touts on the street with scratchcards - we just kept walking.

The resort was clean and tidy. There was a lot of women and children sitting and begging on the street witch wasnt verry nice.
The beach was down a steep hill we walked down and got a taxi back up. When we were there the beach was nice but the waves were massive verry dangerouse couldnt enjoy going in the sea.
Plenty of nice resaurants and bars on the strip. Theres a little train that takes you around the resort and up to old town which stops at Mcdonalds that costs 3 euro each worth the ride as you can get on and off all day for the price.
Zoo marine was excellent day out my son swam with dolphins there it was brilliant. Food and drinks were good and cheap too.

The beach was absolutely perfect for little ones. Not too big and nowhere to escape to (we didn't loose them).
The sand was lovely and the water clear and shallow with millions of shells. At one end of the beach is the most perfect rock pool at low tide with loads of fish, crabs, squid etc.. The lifeguard was present each day, chatting to people and generally looking after the beach. It was wonderfully clean with great walks in either direction along the coast.
The beach bar / restaurant had a great location and good food and the friendliest staff ever. The strip had a good choice of restaurants if all a bit similar but with two little ones we didn't really sample much of the entertainment / nightlife !
